Trump is a provocateur who says things to rile people up. If the people of SC were to have an issue with LG being gay we would have known that the first 5B times this rumor was passed around. Literally no one who is anyone in the GOP cares.

When the pictures come out, they'll care.

Those southern have never heard the rumors. The media is tightly controlled in the southern states. The people of SC are too dumb to question if Lindsay is gay. He is just a Bachelor who likes hanging out with all the conservatives guys. Look how right he is on all the issues and he agree with trump on everything.

Seriously. Those rumors don't penetrate the bubble of regular Republican voters. If it's not on FOX or Limbaugh or similar, they have no idea.

Are CNN et al going with the "gay rumors"? No? Where do hear these rumors - Twitter nobodies? Look at the OP of this thread, trying to use some tweets to prove... something. And look at all of you, eating it up. Liberals actually consider salacious rumor to be fact. Shameful.

But a few pages ago Republicans were claiming that everyone, simply EVERYONE knew Lindsey Graham was gay. So which is it - an open secret or... something something salacious?

You about all crapped your pants with glee when that Florida politician was found with a gay sex worker. Is it just that the meth is missing in Lindsey’s alleged buying sex from gay escorts, or are you just intellectually inconsistent?

I'll explain this slowly to you, since you're having great difficulty understanding. That LG could be gay isn't salacious. It's a private matter that you're not entitled to know about, either way. The salacious part has to do with rumors about soliciting sex - RUMORS. Again, no proof whatsoever. You're trying to smear him with salacious rumors. Do you have any actual proof of anything nefarious having to do with LG? NO? Then STFU, to borrow a well-loved phrase used by DCUM's finest.

As for Andrew Gillum, there was plenty of PROOF of his involvement with not only a sex worker, but also illegal drugs. Not sure how you could possibly equate his situation to this one, which is made up *entirely* of rumors. No proof whatsoever.

Oh my goodness. One of us is having difficulty understanding and it isn’t me.

He's probably said some unfortunate things about being gay, as have most gay people, because the world teaches them to hate themselves. But you're the one saying unfortunate things now, acting like he should be ashamed of himself for who he loves. You don't get a pass. It's wrong, full stop.

No one is mocking him. And it’s one thing to say negative things about being gay as an extension of self-loathing due to society’s bias and another to promote hateful legislation.

Obama opposed gay marriage until 2012. Hillary Clinton didn't support gay marriage until 2013. By 2015, LG was publicly pushing the GOP abandon its stance against gay marriage. Facts are important and perspective is important. You can justify this homophobic attack on him all you want because he is Republican but NO ONE should be shamed for their sexual orientation regardless of their beliefs. Gay people do not have to agree with you. They owe you nothing.

Fundamental difference. Neither Obama nor Clinton ever went about demeaning gays, even when they did not support marriage equality. False equivalence. Yes, they evolved on marriage equality, but they never had to evolve on respect for gays.

When has Lindsey Graham demeaned gay people?

Please note this. Reputable news sites have standards and don’t publish based on rumor. Also notice that no nationally prominent Democrat is retweeting. All that is happening is anonymous posters on a message board are gossiping. Imagine if these rumors had been about a Democrat. Trump would have retweeted. A large number of conservative publications would have picked it up.

YOU KNOW HOW you make America great again? Tell Donald Trump to go to hell!” This is what Lindsey Graham, the Republican senator from South Carolina, told Alisyn Camerota on CNN’s New Day on 8 December 2015—four full years ago.

He's a race-baiting, xenophobic, religious bigot,” Graham continued. “He doesn't represent my party. He doesn't represent the values that the men and women who wear the uniform are fighting for….He's the [ISIS] Man of the Year.” The senator rightly pegged Trump’s anti-Muslim rhetoric as cold political calculus of the basest kind: “What Mr. Trump is doing—and I don't think he has a clue about anything—he's just just trying to get his numbers up and get the biggest reaction he can. He is helping the enemy of this nation.

And then, the money shot: “I'd rather lose without Donald Trump than try to win with with him,” Graham said. “I wish he would leave the party. I don't care if he runs as an independent. If we lose the 2016 election, so be it. I want to be in a category of the one percent who said ‘B.S., this is not who we are at a party, this is not who we are as a nation.’” Five months later, as Trump began his Russian-fueled ascendancy, Graham doubled down:

Trump would have retweeted it and said "I don't know if this is true but some do". Then he would have denied that he ever personally outed him.
