I think it is probably the latter, or at least the same small number of complainers There are some posters who seem overly concerned that the school is not Catholic enough for them and complain constantly about that. |
Very strong college admissions results for the Class of 2021!! |
I actually think it's a result of the price point. At the price there is very little margin of error and there has been too many errors not to build resentment. The problem escalates when families belive the school has changed direction from what they originally bought. Moving schools in high-school is no easy undertaking. For everyone like you taking a measured approach there are many that are frustrated and insulted by the changes. They see no recourse so the vent and try to warn others. |
I got mine so now the place can implode. |
This is a smart insight. This, coupled with the confirmation bias that comes with not wanting to admit that you spent $160,000 on a mistake. |
I think some times people who don’t even know anything about a particular school write |
I can't speak for anyone else but I can tell you I know way more about SR than I would ever have wanted to. |
And that makes you the expert on the school? What it should not be doing or vice versa? |
Geez what an arrogant response. |
Yes it does. |
I'm not arrogant, just smarter than you. |
| I understand the disappointment that can be felt with the new direction this year with DEI. And the price point is high. But the other way to look at it is the positives and there are many. One positive that we are very grateful for is the teachers and their dedication to the students. Also the school has a lot of resources. We sacrifice a lot to send our DD there, but I know we are getting a lot too. No school is perfect--and that too is a life lessons for our DD. I hope that parents considering SR also keep the positives in mind. |
Thank you for this. I'm glad you're happy. We have taken it off our list completely. |
| We are happy overall but not thrilled about the amount of DEI stuff and at times more than a little troubled by it. But every school has to be considered as a total picture. I also wonder about what the future will hold. Will schools like SR dial it back due to parent concerns, and will others jump on the bandwagon? It is all hard to determine. I would say look at a school whose educational program is a good fit for your child. Because DD entered in high school, the considerations were clearer for us. |
Thanks. We are going to pass. Hopefully they will get it together quickly. Just not quite quick enough for us. There are too many options without this controversy. It is stupid to jump in a dirty pool for $45000/year. Good luck to those stuck navigating this mess. I truly am sorry you are dealing with this. |
