I don't understand why so many SR threads devolve into such nastiness about the school. We have a DD in the upper school and overall have been happy. We think that the amount of DEI stuff this year is over the top and we have been troubled by some parts in particular. Parents who have concerns need to speak up, but airing grievances like this on a public board is childish and mean-spirited. Our DD has lovely friends at school so I scratch my head sometimes to think about how there can be so many mean-spirited posters from the school-or maybe we are hearing from the same ones over and over?
I actually think it's a result of the price point. At the price there is very little margin of error and there has been too many errors not to build resentment. The problem escalates when families belive the school has changed direction from what they originally bought. Moving schools in high-school is no easy undertaking. For everyone like you taking a measured approach there are many that are frustrated and insulted by the changes. They see no recourse so the vent and try to warn others.
This is a smart insight. This, coupled with the confirmation bias that comes with not wanting to admit that you spent $160,000 on a mistake.
Geez what an arrogant response.
