Trounced? What game were you watching?

Looooooosers.

We were also playing handicapped without the best player too (Megan Rapinoe). To win without that - yes, trounced.

best player???? maybe with purple hair

this is a team. From Naehr to Dunn to Ertz to Lavalle and Ohara and Heath and Morgan this was a great team effort.
Rapinoe is a part of that team. Not the best part in any way.

Meanwhile Piers is choking on his tea.

What a douche.

She may have a twinge in hamstring but thats not why she's out.

No wrap, no tape, no treatment.

Julie Foudy said the exact opposite...she's had the hamstring wrapped for the last few days, and it wasn't wrapped today because she was 100% out with the injury.

she practiced yesterday with KT tape. No injury report. Foudy did not say that was why she was out, just referenced the tape.
Again she practiced. Rapinoe's own twitter account says "sprinting" towards game 3 hours before kickoff.
The math is not hard to do.

And in about 5 minutes, when the coach says that she was injured and couldn't play, you probably won't believe that either.

England deserved to win that game. Such a shame.

Or from Rapinoe herself, ""I feel like I'll be ready for the final" - Megan Rapinoe confirms a "minor strain" to Fox, explaining her absence"

England fouled more, shot less, and finished the game a player down. No way. They were trying to get favors from the ref the whole game, and when they did get one, they didn’t have the nerve to tie it up. The better team went through.

Exactly.
Hard fought game from both sides, could have gone either way.
In the end, the US finished more chances than England did.
Neither side "deserved" to win it.

With that PK? They deserved nothing.

By an objectively correct offside call?
OK then.

Such an entertaining game. Exactly the kind of contest a World Cup semifinal should be. I'm happy for the U.S. team an for women's soccer.
