What do Atheists believe?

Re: the citation from 2012, 2014, 2016, and two from this thread in 2018 -- that's as bad as it got in this forum?

That's the persecution? Hey, I'm sorry it happened, but I was definitely expecting more of a pattern.

For my religious friends, super sorry for all the recent vitriol. It's crass and unkind.

For my non-religious friends, super sorry for all the recent vitriol. It's crass and unkind.

Religious nut or nutter is used here a lot. Also people often post that folks who embrace religion are uneducated.

So what? People also post that atheists are arrogant and hell-bournd. It's just people expressing opinions on a public forum

Only religious people are called nutter, nut job, bible thumper, brainwashed, stupid, etc.

Not per se.

Just sad, depressed, or indicated that they aren't worthy of acknowledgement.

No clue why atheists are seeking validation on a religion forum.

Read some of the thread titles. Do you see that they ask questions about atheism... such as this very thread?
Or have we circled back to "why do atheists post in a religion forum?" And to that question... read some thread titles.

Also... what makes you think atheists are seeking validation from anyone here?

It's called projection - projecting one's own thoughts or desires onto others.

It's been cleaned up.

From what Jeff and other posters have said, there has been cleanup on many sides.

Atheists believe that there is nothing in the universe more important than themselves.
Jews/Christians/Muslims have faith that there might be, but constantly question.
Southern Baptists are sure that there is, and He is sending everyone else to Hell. .

No that is incorrect, even if you are tongue-in-cheek.

Atheists are people who do not have a belief in a god or gods.

The perception is fair, but I'd argue that most atheists do realize humans are less than insignificant specs of dust when compared to the vastness of the universe.

I think this is pretty true amongst all people of humility. Most religions also ask us to be humble as well, but not everyone practices this at all times.
This is part of the reason we go to service...because we are imperfect and need guidance and forgiveness.

No, atheists don't necessarily believe that. Individuals might.

Sounds like there will be lots of company in hell.

There are plenty of religious people who don't go to service and are able to maintain their humility and belief. There are plenty of atheists who used to attend religious services who are much happier now that they don't listen once a week to a lot of things they no longer believe. There are also atheists who attend services with members of their families who derive some benefit from the activity. Not all atheists are alike, except in one thing - lack of belief in God.

The thinking person should be aware that the end result of atheism as a foundation leads to "might makes right" with no argument of consequence against it.
