So if he declared bankruptcy for purposes of protecting his money, can they somehow pierce the veil and make him pay up?
What if he hid it offshore? |
Also wondering this. |
I’m pretty sure that’s not how bankruptcy works. All his assets would be up for division to his creditors on a pro rata basis except for what he can shield through a homestead exemption or similar, or what the bankruptcy lawyers take (which is a lot). Piercing the veil is a different concept—if the award was against his company and they wanted his personal assets to pay it, they could do that through piercing the veil. Is this award against him personally or the companies or both? |
Scary 😟 |
It depends who the lawsuit was against. If it was against Jones personally and all of the money is held by Alex Jones Corp. or whatever, then bankruptcy can present some real hurdles. If the lawsuit was against Jones and Jones Corp. both, then the plaintiffs are a creditor in whatever bankruptcy is filed. They might have to wait in line behind secured creditors and other with priority, but Jones and Jones Corp aren't simply entitled to keep all of the money. Even if the judgment is against Jones, the money is in the name of Jones Corp, and Jones Corp has filed bankruptcy, the plaintiffs should still be able to get at Jones' interest as a shareholder in Jones Corp. |

Alex Jones is a fat, rotting ball of grease.
What is truly frightening is that he still has followers even though he’s admitted that he lied to them. How fricking stupid are his supporters? It’s unbelievable he has any audience at all. |
The next trial in Texas is set for September. Same judge. |
Will Alex use the same attorney too? |
| I’m a little stunned that anyone here would think the texting history was sent by accident, from a lawyer appointed by Holder. I am NOT a fan of Jones, but this is banana republic law and should not happen |
I was wondering when the RWNJs would come back and cry about the Dems being the real problem. And I can't even decipher this nonsense. |
Ok but you know Holder didn’t appoint him to represent Alex Jones, right? |
Yo I heard Alex Jones only hired him because Obama space mind control lasers planted the thought in his head and also caused him to act belligerently in court. |
Ok. But the prosecutor told the defense attorney he had been sent this stuff. How much of the defense’s job does the prosecutor need to do? |
+1 Dude is incompetent. |
Let me spell it out for you: There is no way two years of texts were sent to the defense accidentally. I can't stand Jones, but I hate miscarriage of justice and a banana republic more. |
