Thanks for the additional advice on other places to get info - much appreciated.
I do believe that DCUM can can still be useful on top of those...but in the spirit of my earlier post, I would add that to keep this a useful forum for myself and for others in the future, it requires that BOTH sides be civil. Thanks again everyone. |
| Let's hope you, too, take your own advice! |

This thread has gotten so off track that it's time to close it down. OP wasn't necessarily asking about PG kids - she provided no IQ scores. My kid who is "merely" 140 was reading 6th grade books in K, in just a few hours per book (and BTW almost any determined kid can do this - we also need to know about reading comprehension). Yet somehow somebody turned the discussion onto her own little PG-focussed track and then started yelling at others when the rest of us got confused.
Hopefully OP has what she needs. |
| The troll is back. |
I definitely do I like it when DCUM can be used to help one another (not just here but in general) - what a great resource! (thanks Jeff!)
I totally agree with PP that this thread has gotten off topic many a time... As the reviver, I have tried to keep to the original intent. How Norwood works with kids who may be 2+ grades ahead. That said - my questions are answered - unless a new person with relevant info to the question of the thread. Again - thanks to all who have been helpful. |
OK, I just did a search on "dcummie" and ... it's ugly. "Aggressively nasty" pretty much describes it. Not worth spending any more time with her. Good luck to the rest of you! |
| I did a similar search for DCUM, TROLLING, DCUMMIE, TROLL, SNARK, SNARKIE, BIG 3. Wow, the sites' infested. Great pick up. |
She also spends an inordinate amount of time in her dictionary, thesaurus, wikipedia and google. She's getting a better educattion here on DCUM than she did when she was in school and it's free --just lke public school. Just goes to prove...it's never too late. |
|
Ah, ha ha! We've all been taken for a ride.
I particularly appreciate that, when you search for DCUMMIE, you get other posters who in the past have pointed out that she's inarticulate (despite frequent and obvious recourse to the thesaurus) and spells a lot of words wrong. I had noticed this too. Yet she claims to have a PG kid and to know all about DYS. The picture just doesn't stack up, so it should have been obvious she's a troll. Well, fool me twice, shame on me. |
Dear troll, The punctuation you are looking for is "site's". Not "sites' ". |
|
"The picture just doesn't stack up"
Nice metaphor. |
150 to 160 IQ mom again with the kid in public magnet and another real smart kid. It's important to realize that Norwood can provide the enviroment for kids like mine. Really. I was incredibly bright as a child and I did very well in private. Anyone can do so. so I don't know why all the argument. |
| Thanks PP for the on topic reply - as for the argument - I think the current one is over the larger topic of civility. |
Have you considered starting a new distinct thread on your topic of choice?
|
16:41 here again - in case PP was talking to me - I am just an onlooker of the argument - participating only in the on-topic discussion
