I agree, their lifestyle was chaotic and not sustainable. I even think they are having financial troubles; they used to travel private everywhere but the last couple of years it's been all commercial. 6 nannies, bodyguards, chefs, drivers, tutors, and assistants start to add up over the years.

This is why I think Brad wants to get back to work - to bring in money. But there have been reports over the years that she doesn't want him doing anything that doesn't include her and she doesn't want to take up work that keeps her away from the kids, AND they can't keep dragging them around everywhere. No win situation.

Everyone's looking for a way to blame Brad, but I think he's more likely to be the rational person in all this who's put up with a lot over the years.

I definitely read some gossip on Jezebel/Gawker (yea I know) that Angelina spends a lot (shopping and donating to charity). Brad is wealthy but maintaining 6 kids and a full entourage adds up; he's not a billionaire. Plan B is a money-maker for him and he should keep it up; he has an eye for producing and that will keep the dollars rolling in.

She's worth 200 million dollars without his additional 240 million. I think she is doing okay without his money. And who the frack cannot avoid to leave the life of sheer luxury on a combined net work of 440 million dollars.

“The final divorce decision was only made one week ago,” the insider tells Us of Jolie Pitt’s resolve to permanently part ways with Pitt, 52. “An incident took place and prompted [Angelina] to act and file.”

And she's nuts. She's admitted to cutting/self-mutilation, had mental health and substance abuse issues (heroin), etc. Doubt she'd flip a lid over Brad smoking pot.

I agreed that it's unlikely his use of pot and alleged poor hygiene were catalysts for this divorce given her own sketchy background. I think it's valid to say that anyone with those issues in their history would not then use those same issues as a reason to divorce someone else with the same issues unless they were a complete hypocrite. It's just hard to feel sorry for the woman who broke up someone else's marriage because she was a sexy sex goddess. I feel bad for their kids, and I'm glad Jolie rehabilitated her image, but I'm not upset for her when she had so little compassion for the other woman by the way she paraded Pitt and her pregnancy around after the breakup. You either aren't very bright or you aren't very worldly. When people overcome that kind of background, they are usually vehemently opposed to their spouse indulging in it. Children of alcoholics frequently have no tolerance for a spouse who drinks. Children of deadbeat dads have no tolerance for dads who don't take care of their children. People who overcome addictions don't tolerate other addicts in their lives.

That's not hypocrisy. That's wisdom gained through hard experience.

I don't have sympathy for "the other women," but AJ didn't break up anyone's marriage. Brad is the one who broke his vows, and HE broke up his marriage. Or do people just write off men as incapable of having self control or ethics?

We don't know their actual net worth (and their cash on hand) and most of these celebrities and athletes go broke because of their spending. It happens all the time.

That may be so. And perhaps the reason for the breakup. There have also been rumors for months about how they've been fighting. Fighting about his cheating, fighting about her weight loss.

As someone said upthread, this isn't an amicable split. Poor kids, they really didn't have a normal life, and they get a tabloid-cover divorce.

Agree. I'm not a huge Angelina fan but she's not responsible for Brad's behavior. The person that makes the vows is the one that breaks the vows if they cheat, not the AP.
