I also noticed none of his teammates, coaches or others stepping in to tell the kid to stop. Bullis and Landon are both programs and schools that work hard to gain attention for their lacrosse teams. When boorish behavior is under the hood at either program, it's going to be on wide display. None of these kids had or have the maturity level to be public figures but the parents, coaches and school rah rah administrators are narcissistic and want this at all costs. So don't complain when it wears a bad look. Nothing is worse than prep lacrosse now. |
this has nothing to do with the sport of lacrosse.
have you ever been to a HS football or basketball game. |
For those arguing walk-on versus preferred walk-on, just stop, you have NO IDEA what you are talking about.
A preferred Walk-On is someone who is guaranteed a spot on the team and who will likely earn scholarship at some point, but not have to grey shirt or red shirt. They are treated the same as a scholarship player in terms of admissions. There are preferred walk-ons who have become impact players in the NFL. |
Actually, this is only about lacrosse. It was only about lacrosse when Landon players urinated on SSSAS players's equipment while the SSSAS kids were celebrating winning the championship game a few years ago. It was only about lacrosse when the boor who coaches Bullis pulled the illegal stick stunt last year on a coach holding a stick as an ornament on the sidelines. It is only about lacrosse when Kevin Giblin screamed profanity to verbally humiliate kids for so many years. And this too is only about lacrosse. You sound like a vintage forty-something lacrosse dad who can always top off by deflecting any blame or accountability for anything. Which no doubt you are. It's a shame these kids will never learn real sportsmanship or humility in their athletic experience. |

what does Landon have anything to do with a bullis lacrosse player making racial remarks towards African Americans. |
Maybe you should re-read it. This narcissistic and boorish stuff comes at a high volume out of several IAC schools. This is the latest in a line of them, and Landon is a part of the pattern. Do is Bullis and so had been GPrep in the Giblin years. There must be something in the Bethesda water to make that local scene so insipid. This is always the part where the defenders of the Landon or Prep or Bullis colors come out to say never me, never us. It's like a zombie movie cast wearing shitty Under Armour apparel. |
Except asking for a stick check on the Landon assistant is 100% within the rules. Unfortunately, he then berated Bullis coaches and players in the following game, and got zero punishment. He is a tool. |
I feel bad for the D1 college programs that will inherit these Bethesda lacrosse families for four years. Except for the guy who hit a player on the other team. He deserves as many IAC dads following him around for all eternity. |
As long as the basis for your case is lies, I suspect you will get push-back. I had two sons play for Giblin at Prep. Rarely did he ever use profanity. And the "verbal abuse" was more like "Get your head in the game" or "That's your man". That's "abuse" to the thin-skinned, I guess. But it sounded like "coaching" to me. Is there too much parental investment in local private school lacrosse? Perhaps. But making up things you wish Giblin said --- as you team got beat --- doesn't give weight to your argument. |
Not trying to start a bar fight over Giblin, pun fully intended, but if you think Giblin's screaming were teaching moments you're on your own with that one. |
You are correct in what you say. But, unfortunately you don't seem to have read the thread you are complaining about. The subject was not walk-ons in the 85 total scholarship world. But rather it was about lacrosse at all levels including DIII and non-scholarship D-! (e.g., Ivy League) |
yeah its the bethesda water. dc based lax players are so different. |
Gonzaga parents are just as crazy.
i'm sure they have arrived at Landon already and set up the tailgate. |
Go Eagles!! |
Sure, they all live in Bethesda so he commute is pretty easy. Or the parents can just catch real time updates from the baltimore lacrosse blogger who lives with his mom and gets a couple hundred bucks to come down and hype the scene. It's always about the next crazy group of idiot lacrosse parents and never your own group. |
