And because there is a group of staff and parents that have organized and keep pressuring others to write emails and get involved. This is a well organized campaign, with templates, talking points, etc that keep pushing their version of reality while the school is doing their investigation.

This is funny. Response from a mouthpiece of the school who continues to chime in with the official comms line from the ED and school accusing others of operating an organized campaign. Setting aside the irony...and? Does the fact that it is organized make it less true? when you attack the process instead of the veracity of the message you've shown your weak hand.

Parents are organizing because of the leadership crisis that Michael Rosskamm has created. He's an abject failure but refuses to resign which says a lot about his magical thinking and/or his ego.

If this is all just a biased campaign, can someone share any positive outcomes the ED has delivered since he came on board? Anything?

Sure! Again, a quick search of actual data shows that the school improved on Empower K12's DC School Accountability Dashboard by 17 points from 23-24 (when he took over as full time ED) to 24-25, which was the second highest growth among MS/HS combos (out of 7 schools) and top 20% improvement in DC overall. This may be an imperfect measure, but it shows he's at least done something right: https://www.empowerk12.org/dc-accountability-scores-dashboard. But again, doesn't fit the biased narrative...

Oops - the period accidentally posted in the link: https://www.empowerk12.org/dc-accountability-scores-dashboard

These types of changes take a few years to happen. I would not credit the ED solely and would argue the previous leaders had a lot to do with it. What this ED has done is bring more focus to IB scores and raising the average academic performance. In a few years, DCI will be the best high school in DC for all kids, not just the superstars who would do well anywhere. That is, if they let him.

There’s a class of employee that’s allergic to accountability and they’re always disproportionately represented among teachers

Did you ask AI to wrote this for you? I don't think bias means what you think it means. For instance, I don't like Nazis. I am admittedly biased against them and their ideology. Should I apologize for believing a biased narrative? Make it make sense.

P.S. Absolutely no horse in the DCI race. No kids there. Don't know anyone there. Just annoyed by logic failures.

I do have a horse in the race. I've seen some of the emails my kid has received from staff - about why they are being let go or why their contract is not being renewed. It is literally the textbook definition of biased - as they are only receiving one side of the story. The school cannot state why they let people go. They might have good reason - I don't know. I know that some students are getting one side.

100% agree and this makes me angry. Teachers are manipulating students and that really isn’t okay.

Flat-out lies. NO teacher has sent an email saying why their contract was not renewed. Show us the email your kid received. You can't because it doesn't exist.

So, if the changes he’s trying to implement are so well intended, why is he not explaining the logic to the people he serves? There’s no need to share confidential information about teachers, but he could certainly do more to explain the logic behind some of the decisions.

Oh come on this is a classic 25 year old teacher move.

Thank you for noticing <3! Yes, we are organized. And yes, we have templates and talking points and so much evidence.

And we are not stopping until there is real accountability. Not a managed process or conflicted investigation. Rosskamm and Pardo (and the rest of their cronies) need to go and we will make sure it happens.

Your goal is to get all admin staff fired?

I said their cronies. Which fortunately is not all the staff.

All the people Pardo installed so she could TenSquare DCI.

“The vote had 80% participation (185 of 232 of the non-supervisory staff). A 94% majority (175 staff) voted no confidence in Mr. Rosskamm's leadership.”

Does anyone care about the math in this?
Anonymous
So 94% of 80% voted no confidence. That’s still 80% of staff. And what about the remaining 6% of the 80%? How did they vote?

Yes, percentages are misleading and frankly pretty useless in argument, unless you’re trying to, well, mislead.
