Also it is a common tactic to make less privileged groups fight amongst themselves while the wealthy groups sit pretty. Not sure if you are doing that intentionally or unintentionally but I recommend you redirect your ire to the schools that already have more advanced coursework than any DCC school does now and are now getting more.

I know you mean well but nobody said Northwood isn’t a good school or that it sucks. But let’s not pretend that the Visual and Performing Arts Academy isn’t the real deal. Einstein’s VAPA program produced a YoungArts winner in musical theatre just last year. Clearly, there’s growing demand for arts classes at Einstein, but the program hasn’t been given enough resources. This isn’t about Northwood—it’s about the Einstein community wanting to preserve what they built from scratch.

I know this kid. Lots of private lessons and theater experience. Could have done this from any high school.

I disagree that every school needs a criteria based magnet. I think that's a terrible idea. Whitman has tons of advanced humanities course offerings for its students. It does not need a magnet program, and placing a magnet program in a high income school will increase racial and economic segregation.

I'm an Einstein parent. Whitman, BCC, and Blair all have stronger MUSIC programs than Einstein. I'd give Whitman the music program and put Humanities magnet at Einstein.

My other unpopular opinion is that the vast majority of Einstein parents could care less about IB. Give it to BCC and let us have more AP classes.
