Why are US and Russia meeting unilaterally to resolve Russia-Ukraine conflict

Tulsi Gabbard, a known traitor, is our DNI. I wouldn't expect the US to be a part of FiveEyes anymore, quite frankly.

What Soviet republics. What part don’t you get that no one wants to rejoin Putin’s USSR dream.

They are in the orbit of a large and still pretty powerful country. They don’t have a choice but to work with it. The U.S. promising them the nato dream is just irresponsible- the U.S. can’t guarantee their safety. The Ukraine is a victim of that empty promise.

Anyone who refers to this country in this manner is a Russian sympathizer at best.

Or just... dumb? It's actually quite common to see this on Reddit.

How well will US companies fare when Europe, one of our biggest markets and trading partners, is at war? How will US tourism fare when Europeans don't travel here anymore?

Now Republicans are getting worried, want to say that Trump needs a do over day. What Trump needs a check on his office and to be told No that’s not what we as America is doing. What Trump needs is to be kicked out of office. No do overs. When people show you who they are, believe them.

Nobody holds elections during a war.

Wow. What great allies. Ask them to contribute more and they take their ball and go home.

You are not understanding. Republicans are abandoning the entire post WW II security system - the very same structure that enabled the US to become the most powerful nation in the world. Trump and the GOP have chosen an alliance with Russia - the western world's most dangerous adversary for the past 80 years. We are abandoning our longtime allies to forge closer bonds with Putin. As part of America's closer ties with Russia, Republicans are ceding Ukraine to Putin and are now pursuing a 30 percent cut in US military spending, which obviously Moscow approves. Our allies are now scrambling. The US has chosen Russia. It is one of the greatest betrayals in history.

+100

A betrayal of our allies

Do you know how much money Russia invested in paying foreign politicians? Millions and millions.

They have been buying European and American politicians for decades. For this.

MAGA are such ignorant idiots.

I wonder if this is a negotiation tactic. We know he’s a skilled negotiator. “Putin buddy you know that I’d love to let you do that, but we’d lose our European trading partners and I’d be toast, so how about we do this other thing instead”.

Sure yeah. ANd when we eventually go to war, probbaly after a threat from Russia, we will have no allies. Great plan. Your plan on relying on help from our enemies is amazing--I bow to your wisdom

Maybe Europe will build an alliance with China then. It’s about time.

US should leave NATO. New alliance needs to happen.

They don't hold elections during wartime. How about our president tell Putin to go shove himself in the a****** and give Ukraine their sovereignty back and then elections can be held and we can see whether he's a dictator or not? It's convenient of Russia and now the US to spit Russian talking points from a dictator no less that zelensky is a dictator when in fact the whole reason that they haven't had elections is because Russia invaded Ukraine and they are actively at war with Russia who invaded them. I'm repeating the point that Russia invaded them because for whatever reason our president has decided to repeat Russian talking points that Ukraine started the war. So again if Russia pulls back and stops invading Ukraine and gives back Ukrainian land then there's no issue anymore.

What? Do you not get how ironic this sounds? Truly sovereign countries don't need to be "given" their sovereignty. They enforce it. The fact of the matter is that Ukraine is unable to take it sovereignty back unassisted. As such, it is not a fully sovereign state, it is a vassal to those that fund and arm it.

Is this what you’re going to say if the US invades Canada?

So .... any country that needs allies- specific to "taking its sovereignty back" is a vassal, is that what you are saying?

It is SO insincere for Trump to say they are taking action because they are so troubled by the ongoing loss of life!!!

Why are they still supporting Netanyahu then, who prolonged a war that killed tens of thousands of women and children?

Not quite. Trump is trying to weaken Europe. To accomplish that, he needs Putin to invade it. Putin will do it because he is desperate.

Do you think Ramstein and other European bases will be shut down? There’s a few airbases in the UK too. The would save tons of money.
