This has been around forever. Gate lice is not new. |
Look at the hypocrisy: “Sweetie” and “hon” or not OK, but “pig” is. Got it. Massive hypocrite. |
Yes, pig is OK when someone acts like one. Just like racist is OK when someone acts like one and jerk is OK when someone acts like one. Sweetie is said to be sexist and condescending as is hon. I gather that you understand these not subtle nuances and points, but you are ignoring them because you don’t like the reflection. |
I’m from Baltimore, I call everyone hon. |
In case you haven't traveled in the last 14 years. https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Gate%20Lice |
It’s OK to sit in your hypocrisy and reflect. You can admit that you allowed yourself to get so worked up, that you resorted to name-calling, even as you were bashing others for name-calling. If you can’t admit that, you have no capacity for self-reflection or growth. You know I’m right, and that is what bothers you so deeply. |
It’s the geniuses who put their bags several rows behind them because their bin was full. You always put it in front of you, never behind. |
Didnt bash you for name calling. Bashed you for being a sexist pig. These things are NOT equivalent. |
I understand that but am stunned that people continue to use it. |
What’s the big deal? |
Well, if people didn't crowd the gates, they would stop using it. That's never going to happen. |
Sure, they can offer, but they are free not to offer, too. Do you think you can order a specific passenger to handle your bags for you, and then get pissy when they don't? Shame on you. Not their job. Also not the FA's job -- they are not working on the clock until after boarding completed. |
It's fine, it refers to people who participate in an action, not an identity group. I think gate lice behavior is fairly evenly distributed throughout the various races/classes/genders/sexual orientations. |
This thread has been inactive almost a month. Did you find it on a google search? |
No babe, trawling through the Travel forum. |
