It wasn’t just this scene. There were references to Christianity throughout the opening ceremony including a golden calf with worshippers around.

Is the calf about ancient agriculture and sculptures too?

Muslims aren't a political party in the US, Christians are.

Muslims are the biggest minority in France.

And if you read anything about France, you know they are not allowed to freely practice their religion in France. No hijabs for their athletes. Not burkas in public. Not burkinins on public beaches. If any religious group is persecuted in France, it’s Muslims.
