Weekly cleaner who also organizes
A perfect California pinot noir
Year-round Landscape maintenance (not just lawn)-yard always looks fantastic
Thick cotton sheets

Not worth it:
High end SUVs (CRV fine!)
Beach house not oceanfront
Private for elementry
Roses on Valentine’s Day

Tell me more about this perfect Pinot!

I'm from CA but I much prefer Willamette Valley pinot to anything from CA

Marcassin, Occidental and Peter Michael Le Capriece are still up there but the trend supports Williamette for sure. So good.

I’ll go first:
1- Lululemon & Athleta yoga pants are worth it on quality, comfort and they last forever.
2 - Spirit or Frontier sound like a good deal, but you won’t ever see me flying on those carriers. Sure, the other carriers have problems too but no discount is worth the total experience and feeling of safety.
This is a survey I’m trying to “tell a story” so please humor me with examples of items you happily pay more for vs the cheaper product. TIA!

What makes Spirit or Frontier unsafe? I’ve flown on both and while they suck for various reasons, I’ve never felt unsafe. Alaska and Southwest are the ones with recent safety disasters. If United starts flying the 737 Max again, I’d consider it an unsafe airline.

I was on a Spirt flight that did a fly around BWI. (went in to land, scrapped landing at last minute, bearly cleared tree tops) Scared the sh_t out of me. Didn't make an announcement and the luggage didn't come off the plane for about an hour. So something happened to the plane and nobody mentioned anything.

Missed approach?

yes. Been through one? Did the pilot say something? Did it scare the stuff out of you? I'm not afaid to fly not before or after and I fly a lot. Only this, once. on spirt.

That’s how I feel about some of the prior posts. My rich neighbor who has never worked a day in her life is always telling me what fancy crap is “so worth it.” Because the money costs her nothing.

I did pay for the highest trim in my non-luxury brand car to get ventilated seats, heated steering wheel, etc. Even still, I’m not sure it was worth it.

I do pay extra for my kids to do the competitive version of their respective activities. I think it’s a waste but they don’t so it’s worth it in that sense.

heated seat and steering is so worth it. I won't go back.

Please say you're in the DC Metro area and willing to share! I'm happy to throw up a burner email for this info!

- Being “house poor” in a premier neighborhood. Living in a middle class or even pseudo UMC neighborhood sucks once you get a taste of a premier neighborhood. Premier neighborhoods are expensive for a reason.

- New, under warranty cars. Dealing with roadside, loaners, tires, etc. and any and all out of warranty repairs is for the birds. Absolutely worth a premium to avoid 100% of that nonsense and drive carefree.

This sounds like a striver cope. Eco cars like CRV are soul-crushing once you get a taste of a nice daily driver. Even modest “luxury” like a Lexus RX, I guarantee you’d never want to go back to a CRV after driving a new RX for a month.

And private primary are not just formative years for kids, it’s when private parents make friends with each other. You’re deluded if you think you and your kids can just waltz in for private high school and get the same experience. It’s too late.

I buy feminine products from France. Shipping is only $25. They have the most amazing things the U.S. does not. We are backwards here.

What are these amazing products? What store in France?

Yes to good seats or great seats at concerts. I’m not going to a concert to sit in the next town over. Big I can’t see the stage well why bother.

All Clad made in USA cookware

Yes, to all those! All Clad non-stick is usually made in China and no better than Calphalon or any other cookware.

Carhartt makes me laugh, because I grew up in the rural Midwest, and it's what all the old farmers sitting outside the Casey's General Store wore.

I was in Paris last spring and there was a Carhartt section in the Printemps department store.
