Between PWSI/VSA/VDA do any of the teams show that they encourage a possession based game? Most of the games I've seen from VDA have all been a direct style, often skipping the midfield. |
Seems like a good amount rolling over. Wonder how that compares to the other 2011's clubs that merge like Union, or NVA. |
Union 2011 has mostly McLean kids and NVA has mostly Loudon kids. |
| FCV is only going to be better now! |
Varies by age, but the Union 11's are about about 50% Mclean, 25% SYC, 25% external. |
| Let’s get away from the other clubs on an FCV post and talk about FCV. Are their girls and boys really “the future?” |
No. |
Why not? |
| There won't be any future if FCV doesn't provide a plan going forward. Players won't sit around in the dark hoping for the best. |
The backbone of FCV left. GA is dead. |
Nonsense, I know very few people and there were several random unqualified parent rec coaches who became Valor coaches this year to coach their own kids team. They don't disclose that to the other parents and charge them like its a real coach. Usually the 4th or 5th teams in the age group. The 2012 worst team for boys and the 2011 worst team for girls were both random parent former rec coaches. Its hard to recruit travel coaches to coach a team that's basically worse than a rec team (most rec teams have a few good athletes/players). |
Nah. I might have believed that statement a couple of years ago when FCV was beating GA teams 10-0 and their only real competition was strong ECNL teams. But that's not the case anymore. At least in the Mid Atlantic GA FCV, has a harder time beating GA teams than decent ECNL teams. So either GA is getting stronger in the MA or ECNL is getting watered down weaker. But true, if FCV goes away in the DMV, so does GA representation... at least for a while. |
| Any updates from FCV about their future plan? |
It's been crickets |
Yah ECNL is a big scam. Connections, networking, $$ are bringing recreational level players in front of colleges. Our team has a few committed players that show poor to zero IQ in the field. I am seeing coaches sabotaging some talented players cause they show up more than their favs. |
