Insurrection Hearings 6/28 and beyond

Eastman and Clark's phones were seized last week - were they the authors of the intimidating messages sent to witnesses? Did this precipitate today's testimony in particular?

Cippoline and Meadows aren't cooperating. The secret service is normally not asked (although they were about Clinton).

She was there for much of it. The other witnesses are cowards or direct conspirators.

Pompeo made his first appearance as well. He was the guy that tipped the WH off about the 25th A discussions.

Uh no, doing a good job at this hearing doesn't deserve her the presidency. Beliefs matter above all when we vote for president.

DP. I don't want her to be President because I don't agree with most of her policy preferences. But I wouldn't be scared if she won. I'd merely be unhappy about the policies she'd pursue. But those are the breaks in a democracy.

Why indeed.

Cheney to General Flynn: "Do you believe in the peaceful transition of power in the U.S.?"

General Flynn: "Fifth."

That's terrifying.

That would happen behind closed doors if at all. There'd have to be a high bar for Secret Service to testify against the people they are tasked with protecting.

Well it’s insurrection and accusations of being a traitor. That’s not a high bar?

Quite a few times she said she overhead. She was quite regularly standing silently in the background. She also named the people that told her things. It's less hearsay than one would think.

This country is f#cked. Truly, deeply, irreparably. Our political and business elites have truly gone off the deep end.

There were a number of business leaders apprised of the conspiracy to storm the Capitol and they just let it happen with nary a peep.

Always remember that his brother was the Army Chief of Operations, was one of the people that orevented the DC Nat Guard from being deployed (a fact that the DOD lied about), and was given a promotion. All of this was in the timeframe in question.

He's currenty in charge of Pacific Command.

Being related to a treason-weasel isn't a crime. I haven't seen anything to suggest that the brother is loony, only Flynn. And he's been a loon for a long time.

See, that was typically the case Pre-Trump. Or at least some Presidents made an effort at looking like they were representing all Americans even if they differed by policy. There was no pretense by Trump. He was picked because he was most explosive.

I’m not falling for any pro-GOP propaganda about Cheney. She does not deserve to be anything. She is doing this one thing correctly, end of list. I do not find her to be honorable in any other fashion. She’s still a Republican.

I disagree. I'm a centrist Democrat and I'm incredibly impressed with her and would vote for her, even though I thought her dad was the devil incarnate and I'm pretty sure there isn't much of anything I'd like in her platform. So tired of the endless succession of opportunistic, gutless, weather vanes that got us to this point.

Except the Flynn brother significantly delayed troop support to the Capitol Police. It's not a stretch to believe that he was in on the coup and wanted the rioters to succeed.
