Her character wasn't Trump, but with the smoking (Obama), a woman (Hillary) and other clues shows Streep plays a mix of leaders we had over the years. The director wanted to convey how ALL presidents/politicians have been liars for the most part.

+1 I absolutely loved the movie and laughed all the way through. The rest of the family, on the other hand, did share my enthusiasm. It's amazing how polarizing the film is.
