Maybe Biden should have had a better plan with a timeline that allowed for evacuation.

This is on him.

The PP is going to continue repeating her talking points on every.single.thread, without ever acknowledging that Biden COULD have changed the terms of the withdrawal. He chose not to. The end result is his fault.

How could he? You think the Taliban would come back to the table after Trump gave them everything they wanted? You think this would have gone better had Trump “won” again (god forbid such a bad thing should befall us again!)? You think his immediate pull out that he wanted by January 2021 would have gone better? https://www.nytimes.com/2020/11/16/us/politics/trump-troop-withdrawal-afghanistan-somalia-iraq.html

And finally if you guys are so concerned about rape, why don’t you ever speak up when Republicans (truly, you’re more appropriately called “rapepublicans”) are convicted of rape and pedophilia. Or when elected Republicans and those running for office say women should have stopped it and that rape is just “inconvenient.” You don’t give a damn about bodily integrity, at all. You know we know that, right?

Wow. Some real whataboutism there, Skippy.

Biden owns the Afghanistan debacle. Face it. He set the date. He executed his "plan." It's all on him.
And, looks like Biden managed to replace the SIV holders and true Afghan allies with real winners. Just lovely.

He owns it as much as the previous 3 have also owned it. Period.

No offense but you present as an utter imbecile. The previous posters were addressing the evacuation for which Biden alone is responsible and it is impossible to defend that unmitigated disaster.

You’re still flogging that? It’s over. It’s done. We’re out. And it went outstandingly well. Sorry that your media choices have left you uninformed (and they have).

A month ago right wing media sources screeched that tens of thousands of stranded Americans were being systematically hunted to be slaughtered by the Taliban because Biden abandoned them. Here we are a month later and it turns out there are NOT tens of thousands of abandoned Americans stranded in Afghanistan, and not one single instance of an American citizen hunted and slaughtered by the Taliban. I think right wing media should be correcting the record and apologizing. Along with falsely claiming that "Biden left xx billion dollars worth of equipment" when in fact that was equipment that had been transferred over to the Afghan National Army over the course of 20 years including by Trump - meaning the US no longer owned it. We are owed SO MANY corrections and apologies from dishonest conservative media.

What kind of stupid comment is that? Due process. We're still only in the first part of Jan 6th hearings and prosecutions. What do you mean 'over and done?'

Compared to Afghanistan accountability for what, exactly? Hearings and prosecutions for the tens of thousands abandoned American citizens who were left stranded and got slaughtered by the Taliban (except, that didn't happen).

Some days it's hard to decipher exactly what's going on in the delusional world of right wing fiction. And honestly the right wing can't keep it straight or explain it coherently, either.

Oh boy! This should be good. Will NOT be a good look if Pramila sends him packing to COP 26 empty handed.

I mean but what does that mean. He's flying out at 12PM EST. Does that mean the House Dems will finally have to stop f**king around and pass the Infrastructure deal before wheels up?

Or does he just want another 'promise' to show the COP26 crowd?

Yep, he just needs a win…..any win at this point. And then he’ll be off to humiliate himself on the world stage. I never though it could get worse then Trump but I was wrong. Good times.

Not sure what it means in terms of what he plans to do differently this morning that he hasn't already been doing.

If you were Pramila, would you trust him to deliver a meaningful larger spending package if the infra bill passed as a standalone?
Anonymous
It means he needs a win and he'll call it a win and everyone will roll their eyes.
Anonymous
$1T bipartisan infrastructure IS A WIN. Obama couldn’t get a infrastructure bill that was only a few hundred billion. Trump promised to do something but never delivered.

$1T in infrastructure/industrial policy spending is waaaaaaay more than I would’ve expected if you asked me 2 years ago.
