beach question: gucci or furla

my husband says i'm sure to get flamed, but this is our first beach vacation to the shores on this side of the country - going for 4-5 days - which handbag should i take - a gucci that's pretty big and can fit a ton of stuff and double as a baby bag when we're out at night or a small furla, which is more like a normal handbag,
