Locking the thread won't remove the messages, which I agree are problematic. There appears to be a bit of sock-puppetry as well. I've only read the last few messages, so I don't have a handle on the full context. I'll try to find time to read through the entire thread and figure out what to do.

Thank you for your comment above. I am shocked that you (DC Urban Moms and Dads) would allow this garbage on your website. Mrs A is under personal attack, just as Dr A was previously. Who is next, his kids? This is irresponsible of you to allow these untruths on your forums. Please stop!

It turns out that I didn't have to read the entire thread. After the first two pages it was clear that the thread was mostly fabricated by a sock puppet that was actually posting messages on both sides of the argument. The amazing thing is that someone actually spotted that back in July. I just hadn't read the thread.

Because of the pervasive sock puppetry, I've removed the entire thread.

Someone who works at Merrill Lynch has way too much time on their hands.
