Dump the holey college gear

Anonymous
My DH graduated from college 20 yrs ago and still wears his college t-shirt (from 20 yrs ago). And our son wears my husband's basketball jersey (even though it goes down to his knees). I have one sorority shirt that I sometimes wear - b/c I feel really strongly about my sorority.

Where'd you go to college, do you still wear college insignia and do your kids wear your college related stuff? DH went to Harvard and I went to UVA.

I graduated from college over 30 years ago. My spirit wear is long gone.

Sorority tee shirts? Come on now... My sorority's philanthropy is breast cancer awareness which is something I strongly advocate. That being said I am a woman in my mid 30s and can buy clothes that I did not get from a mixer or Greek week

I went to Syracuse ('93) and only have two surviving ratty tee shirts which I dearly love. But I only wear them in the house. I'm 42 and I don't need to be walking around in an orange tee shirt with a big loud 'CUSE across the front. Please.

I never wore college insignia gear. I went to Cornell.

My stuff all wore out and was tossed years ago. I didn't replace it. My husband has a few tshirts from his PhD school that he wears (but not from undergrad); he also wears the gear from the university where he teaches now. Looks good on him.

Op here. In defense of DH, he doesn't wear it to out dinner, but he sometimes wears it around the house and on weekends - even though every time I wash it, I want to throw it out. I bought my sorority tee a few yr ago at a convention and I like it b/c it's fitted for a woman and most t-shirts aren't. And it's a cute tee with a small emblem. But I see a lot of kids wearing college gear and I wonder if the parents are so into their college that they push it on their kids too.

of course you get your kid a little Terp jersey.

I went to Georgetown but never bought the T-shirt. Literally or figuratively.

my five-year-old has been given college t-shirts from various colleges -- usually a friend's undergraduate school, once mine (but purchased by my uncle). I have a couple of college sweatshirts (one undergrad, one grad) in a plastic bin under my bed. I haven't worn them in literally years, but can't quite get rid of them ....

Thank goodness, I was just about to say the same thing about my Penn State gear! I am 10 years out though. I don't wear it to the mall, but I certainly wear it on game days and lounging around the house.

I'm 20 years out of college but still have a bunch of sorority/college Tshirts. They are great for working out in the basement but I don't wear them out of the house.

My college friends buy my kids stuff from our college. I have a few newer things that I wear on game days. I'm a big fan.
