Roy Moore the Pedophile

I must admit that I just heard one of his high school classmates speak and she said she did not believe the accusations. She said she had never heard any of this and she lives in the town.

I do believe he dated teen-aged girls. I find that troubling--but it is not pedophilia.

There are two women who have accused him, and, while I find them believable, I am not 100% convinced. I do not like Moore and I would not vote for him, but I just don't understand how this could have been kept quiet for so long. Unlike Weinstein, he had no power over these girls for forty years. Yes, at the time, it would have been difficult for them to challenge him, but for forty years?

People in his home town still support him. The media says that it was well known in that town that he liked teenaged girls.. That does not make sense. If it were well known, they would not support him.

No endorsement of Moore. Just questioning the circumstances. There are some pieces missing in this story.

14 year-old is pedophilia. Stop being an enabler.

Yes it does make sense because people like them are really no different from the Taliban. They see nothing wrong with grown men hitting on 14 year old girls. FFS, they used the Bible to justify it.

AFAICT the media has reported that it was well known that he hung around the mall, badgered teen girls, etc. No one has claimed it was common knowledge that he had actual sexual contact with one or two. If people thought he was just a creepy emotionally immature guy who had a thing for teens (that he ever actually acted upon) and perhaps outgrew it, to be become a paragon of homophobia, liberal baiting, unlawfully defying the federal Supreme Court, etc, then they may well have decided to support him.

NOW they have to deal with what they all knew already, and the claims of the two serious accusers, as well as the three he "only dated". In particular what the rest of the evidence adds to the credibility of the two accusers. Now a lot of people down there (and some elsewhere) absolutely believe him. But the arguments that he is falsely accused are based on some pretty elaborate conspiracy theories, that, at least to me seem pretty strained. Some, right in this thread, absolutely mischarecterize McConnell and other mainstream Republicans (who assuredly are NOT interested in compromising with Democrats) Some absolutely smear the Washington Post.

There is even someone, we don't know who, who has funded a robocall designed to smear the Post's roll - in a hamhanded, and arguably antisemitic way.

Draw your own conclusions.

Wow, Moore is holding a press conference right now with a hand writing expert. Claiming his signature in the yearbook isn't his.

What a liar.

A handwriting expert is going to have a look at the yearbook according to Roy Morre’s attorney.

Meanwhile, The Five sucks.

He married a woman he met when she was 15 or 16. She was the classmate of the girl he sexually assaulted behind a restaurant. He asked girls out for dates while he was speaking at the high school. He asked girls out who worked at the mall — as Santa’s elf. He was banned from the Y and the mall. He left town to look for work in construction. He then left the US for Australia.

The correct term is child sexual assault.

Sad they turn their back on their fellow citizens. Or is that ok in Alabama because they are women. Shows why no one ever spoke up about this toad before, what a hell hole of a state
