| BWI league looks like some ugly mismatches. Very lopsided scores. |
| League needs to do better job of matching up teams. BLC, MDU East, and Copp Black should be playing each other. |
To be honest, MDU east would beat most of the JV HS league teams, but BWI won’t let middle school play up anymore after HG 27 dominated. |
Which local teams have “fly-ins”? Is it true of MDU, Coppermine, Hero’s, M&D and others? Or some clubs are anti? |
| Heros Green, M&D Black and Skywalkers Blue have fly ins. This is a major red flag. |
Agreed. Allowing a player who can barely attend practice to participate in games diminishes the team’s standards. |
|
You say it’s a major red flag (for what?) and diminishes the team’s standards, yet you just named 2 of the perennial top clubs in the nation. In 2025 those were the top 2 and 3 clubs in the nation. Their teams are very often #1, 2 or 3 in the country. I don’t get what’s diminished or the red flag.
I could see people thinking out of principle they should stick with their local talent, as part of a level playing field. But honestly there’s so much that’s not level beyond a fly in. |
They would beat a lot of the varsity teams too. Same with the m&d 30s. M&D and Heros teams regularly play their 8th grade teams against varsity competition in the winter and they usually dominate. |
Exactly. And from what I understand, the fly-ins often make plenty of practices. Those elite programs attract top talent because they consistently win and their girls play at their dream schools. In order to keep that going, they take the top players from anywhere. |
Sounds like an elite National team. |
You can label it any way you want, but the formula is obviously working. Also, it’s not like half the team are fly-ins. I believe SW has one, and I think that neither m&d or HG have any (yet). For the 29s, i dont think HG or SW have any, and I think m&d only has 2. |
| Mnd and HG have at least one fly in for 2030 |
Both M&D and Heros 2030 teams have fly ins from the west coast. |
Was unaware, thought they were both still all local. But my point remains, it’s not half of the team. |
Who said it was half the team? |
