Kate's New Picture

Even if there’s a colostomy bag, she could have sat for a photo with a jacket over it/not done anything for Mothers’ Day, which would have been better than that doctored photo.

So the press would pivot to how she’s so lazy she took off 3 months for something for which rest of us get a month off. They’d say she’s too vain to sit for a photo with a puffy face or hands.

You Kate worshippers who believe this is the case had better get new talking points ready.

You don't need to be a worshipper to see that the frenzy doesn't need to be given in to. Some of you sound completely unhinged.

If it was a burst appendix, I think they would have released that information to the press and public. There is nothing embarrassing about it, and it's also a life-threatening emergency and I think people would flip out if it turned out the future queen almost died and they said nothing.

If she'd had a burst appendix back in December, and everything since then was related to that, I think they would just have said "Catherine's appendix burst in December, she had a follow up surgery to address complications in January, she is resting and recovering nicely, please give her family time and space to deal with this personal medical matter," and there would be no controversy at all.

I get wanting medical privacy and if the medical issue is something intimate or embarrassing, I understand wanting to keep it under wraps. But a burst appendix is one of those things that most people would just tell people about because it's easy to understand and does not prompt a lot of questions. It's the kind of answer that would shut down speculation pretty easily.

"After Easter" is actually fairly ambiguous. It means not before but does not in fact give a "set, predetermined date." People need to learn to read for what is NOT said.

Saying that she will return to her public duties after March 31 seems fairly definitive to me.

she signed up for this. She is entertainment. Only entertainers get to live her privileged life and they do it for us, the audience. So yes, until she declares that she's out of the BRF, she's our entertainment.

What a sad life you lead. So jealous of her privileged life.

DP. What a sad life you lead, you’ve basically merged your own feelings and judgment with your admiration of her “beauty” and “privileged life,” to the point where you’re willing to give up all rights to question a public figure.

See Biden, who I will vote for, but I do think it’s legit to ask about his suitability.

Comparing Kate with Biden is an interesting choice. I know you really need to know if she's got a colostomy bag or not but this isn't really anything to be proud of. I guess if she were more attractive to you she'd be more worthy of dignity and respect? Go you!

So this really is about what you perceive as her amazing beauty. Normal, healthy people obsess about her looks one way or another, which seems to be a good thing for a free press.

I think that might be some people's goal but I actually don't need her to share her medical information. I am curious about the frankly insane behavior from the Kensington Palace press office, and to me that's where the drama is. If this were really just about a medical issue and recovery, and nothing more, I don't think we'd be getting weird contradictory messages from KP, and they wouldn't have tried to doctor a 5 month old photo and pass it off as new (and no, I don't believe that Catherine randomly decided to change all the colors/patterns in the photo for fun before posting it herself to their official Instagram page and distributing a copy to news agencies on her own).

This is not about invading the privacy of a woman having a medical issue. It's about a powerful, wealthy institution behaving in an erratic and suspicious way that raises questions.

I feel absolutely terrible for her. She was loved, glowing press, then she needs serious surgery and people now hate her with a passion, speculate she's suicidal, anorexic, beaten by her dh, dead...I cannot imagine the toll that takes on someone. It's worse than the Meghan and Diana shit really, because it's about a person's health, not supposed bad behavior with staff or affairs.

I think this is about Kate playing hardball over her kids’ education. She doesn’t want them to attend boarding school as is royal tradition.

It’s interesting that Diana’s brother, Charles, just opened up about being sexually and physically abused during his time at boarding school.

Read what Kate's uncle just said. This is NOT how you talk about someone who is just recovering from surgery, there is some other condition (eating disorder?) being treated. What is he waiting for "to be announced"?

Kate’s uncle Gary Goldsmith comments on the princesses’ health again when asked point-blank by fellow Celebrity Big Brother contestant Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, “Where’s Kate?” Middleton responds, “Because she doesn’t want to talk about it, the last thing I’m going to do is [talk about it]. There’s this kind of this code of etiquette. If it’s announced, I’ll give you an opinion.” Middleton claims that he has spoken to his sister Carole about Kate’s health and says that she’s getting the “best care in the world” and “She’ll be back, of course she will.”
“All the family has put the wagons down and [are looking] after the family first before anything else,” he said. “They put a statement out, they said, ‘She’s going to take some time to recoup and we’ll see you at Easter.’”

Middleton’s apparent uneasiness while answering the question, as well as his cryptic statement, “If it’s announced, I’ll give you an opinion,” raises even more questions.

I mean, I would not take the tone, content, or demeanor of a statement from a Big Brother contestant seriously. Even if he's related to the Princess.

I would read basically nothing into this.

I think we all know the photo is a fake. We all know something is up and the cat is firmly out of the bag.

the only question now is whether they are heading for divorce; what are the grounds; what are her terms for return to the marriage; and who had the AP. Or long shot that neither did and she is just done with her position. Given how hard Kate and the Middletons lobbied for this role and their new found rank in society, I find it implausible that she or the family would leave. Maybe the Middletons want money? God knows.

+1 this.

I will also say, for those still hung up on the picture, there are many articles, such as this one from the telegraph, that explain the degree of photoshopping, which explains why it’s a problem. You can’t merge someone’s head and then claim it as fact

“ Analysis of data embedded in the image indicates that a copy and paste function was used, most likely in the section featuring her face.”

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/royal-family/2024/03/11/royal-family-photo-kate-princess-of-wales-live-latest/" target="_new" rel="nofollow"> https://www.telegraph.co.uk/royal-family/2024/03/11/royal-family-photo-kate-princess-of-wales-live-latest/

Also, for those concerned it’s an invasion of her privacy, she’s the future queen of England and the hypocrisy is stunning. Case in point, Celia Walden of the Telegraph just released an article titled “Shameful Speculation about the Princess of Wales’ Health has to Stop” yet when MM had Archie, her piece said “Meghan Can’t Demand Privacy for baby Archie while asking the public to fund her family’s lifestyle.” So which is it?

Yes.

If she needed leverage bc her husband wants to continue with his affair and/or he’s asked to divorce before becoming king (knowing he couldn’t get a divorce once king as head of the Church of England)….
Color me confused, wasn’t the COE founded because a king wanted a divorce?

Oh please. No comparison with Diana who was driven by the press to death in a tunnel, or to Meghan who had to leave the country.

Your fawning adoration for Kate it's toe-curling. I bet you subscribe to teen magazines too.

KP said she'd need months and months of recovery (so, no, nothing simple) and Will would pull back his schedule too. They've invited the scrutiny by being terrible at their jobs.

Is an appendix burst, it isn’t simple at all, it can be extremely complicated. First you can become septic. It means on open belly operation, sometimes they have to remove parts of intestines or other organs involved, it can be very hard to wash out and they sometimes have to leave belly open for an extended time. Even once closed, it could mean IV/central line nutrition for an extended time if there was bowel involvement, weeks of IV antibiotic therapy.
