Walter Johnson would be the dealer.
BCC would be the kid who thinks that he is ghetto Wootton would be the Asian kid in the corner studying Churchill would be the rich and popular kid with the newest car. Richard Montgomery would be the token black. Churchill would be first in nose jobs. |
Whitman would be the first in nose jobs. |
Can't argue with those stereotypes. Although you are missing 19 other MoCo high schools that probably aren't as defineable. |
Springbrook would be the shady guy on the sidewalk while you cross to the other side. |
Well, maybe if MoCo west of Rockville Pike were a high school. Then, OK. |
Paint Branch would be. . . the rednecks blasting Rap music in the parking lot?
Wheaton and Northwood would be. . .the people beating up everybody? |
Thanks I work there. |
Springbrook used to be, back in my day, that school with the jewish and asian kids who for whatever reason weren't at a "W" school. |
Wow guys, way to promote civil discourse on DCUM. |
Springbrook used to be where tons of doctors and lawyers kids used to go before the newer gen of docs and lawyers all "had" to live in Chch Bethesda or Potomac |
This. We live in Silver Spring and my friend's teenage DD, who attends Whitman, insisted to me recently that SS and Wheaton are not in Montgomery County. *Insisted*. So emblematic of the mentality of the western part of the county, as is OP's post. |
That does not surprise me. I'd bet that less than 10% of Whitman or Churchill students could find Wheaton if there was a pot of gold laying there waiting for them. |
Hmm ... Googled Churchill and came up with this http://potomac.patch.com/articles/cabin-john-petition. In the school in the story it seems like they are trying to establish a private public schools with courses easy enough for their kids to do well. |
DS was on a sports team out of Chevy Chase once. We live in SS and he goes to a SS magnet school. Those moms would NOT believe it was MCPS -- they kept saying, are you sure that isn't in DC or PG? We've never heard of it. Blah blah blah
I also once had a Bethesda mom ask me in shock if there were really parks in Silver Spring suitable for kids to actually play in. I don't know what they think is going on over here ![]() |
Ha, I love it. I'm in SS too and sometimes I wish we did have our own county over here. Montgomery County Without All the Alpha Parents. |
