If a St Bernard went on a diet would it end up the size of a chihuahua? They're both dogs aren't they? If a raven went on a diet would it end up like a chickadee? If a great white shark swam just a little more could it look like a minnow? All animal species come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Even people. Each person needs to find the weight, diet and exercise level that os right for thay individual.

Fat is fat. A fat st bernard is a fat st bernard, just like a skinny st bernard is a skinny st bernard.

Dont lie to yourself that youre fat because you cant balance food input and exercise output. Its the easiest excuse to just say Im supposed to be bigger. The real question is what do you think you should look like and what are you comfortable with?

I'm 5'10 with broad shoulders and hips. My best friend is 5'1 with a tiny frame. I'll never be able to diet into being as small as she is. But that doesn't mean that any weight problems I have are the result of my frame.

Even when I was 120lbs (I'm 5 foot 9) my ribcage and shoulders were wide. Just my build.

Even when I was eating 1200 cal a day, exercising 2-3 hrs a day, and taking diet pills, I couldn't get under 155lbs at 5'6" and 22 yrs old.

That is because your body thought you were starving. See a therapist and you might lose some weight.

I am 5'6" with very broad shoulders so no matter how much weight I lose I can never look smaller than my broad back / shoulders. That said, right now I am kind of fat and it has nothing to do with my linebacker shoulders!!
