Moore is not a savior of the party, but he represents conservative values and we need more, not less, of that in the republican party. Capitalism and Conservatism wins. The country has gone too far left so it takes a larger swing to the right to get the country back on the right track. The GOP establishment has determined that "Middle of the road" is the best long term position" and that kind of stinking-thinking is what put Romney and Jeb Bush on the ballot as candidates: losing, lukewarm, uninspiring candidates who are repugnant to conservatives because they are basically RINOs, and repugnant to Democrats simply because they have an (R) by their name. Luckily, Jeb Bush did not win the republican primary or we would be seeing Hillary Clinton in office today. What convinces me that Moore could be an effective legislator is that 1) he has the correct conservative lens to filter legislation to get the right laws passed and the wrong laws blocked, such as the transgendered garbage springing up, and 2) he is smart enough to learn the ropes and do what needs to get done. His experience as a judge makes him quite qualified, certainly more than that jackass Obama.ever was. |
Conservative values is preying on underaged girls, blowing up debt and deficits and undermining freedom and liberty at home and abroad? |
Moore hasn't even adequately denied the allegations. |
When she told me her story, I was 80% sure she was telling the truth, However, there was this 20% doubt that caused me to think she might not have been telling me the whole story about what happened, just the part to get my sympathy. Women are like children and tend to be liars and bend the truth at their convenience. Of course, I did not express my 20% doubt but sympathized with her and offered my sympathy. I am married, have been so for 15 years, so don't give me "you don't know women" spiel. And we do have a rape allegation culture, starting with the Duke Lacrosse team nonsense. It is because of these so many "cried wolf" rape allegations that it is hard to believe any of them seriously anymore unless the woman comes out right away with the accusation and can prove it quite clearly. I am more concerned with the rape allegations hurting Roy Moore's chance of getting elected than I am about the allegations bcause like I said, I am 99% certain the allegations are fabricated. There is no way I am convinced they are true apart from a judge handing down a sentence after examining the evidence, evidence that is completely lacking as far as I'm concerned. |

"Women are like children and tend to be liars and bend the truth at their convenience."
wut? |
This person is a misogynist. Let's all agree to ignore the misogynists on this thread. We have led them to water repeatedly and they won't take a sip, so let's let them dry up and blow away. |
Do not engage the misogynist troll. |
The country will always go left, because progressive take the country forward, not backward. The country has civil rights because of progressives(in both parties). The country has Social security, medicare and medicaid because of progressives without which the old and poor will suffer through inhumanity and indignity of winner takes all capitalism. The country has LGBTQ rights and gay marriage because of progressives. The country has abortion rights because of progressives. The country has equality, for the most part and despite racism in some areas, because of progressives. The country has Obamacare and universal healthcare in the not too distant future because of progressives. The country has breathable air, drinkable water and a decent environment and in future climate change regulations because of progressives. What exactly are the achievements of the right leaning conservatives? And no, the tax cuts for the rich that ends up in recession and worsening income inequality is not an achievement. |
Lets not engage the misandrist trolls either. |
People like you are why we need poll testing, only instead of suppressing the black vote, the aim would be to suppress the total freaking idiot vote. |
The red pill is strong with this one. |
Thanks for answering. I guess I just get a different vibe. As a judge, he openly defied the Constitution, federal and state law - not real Conservative actions. And based on what I have read about him, he is not your typical GOP capitalist (who tend to be more "establishment") in that they do not let moral and religious views constrain their capitalistic bent. So he is an evangelical conservative. Ok. But evidence shows that evangelical legislators do not have the best legislative track record. They tend to propose things that have no way of getting passed and they tend to obstruct mutually compromised legislation. Given that most people want Congress to work together to get things done and have given it a poor approval rating, electing someone who plays into that polarization won't help. And let's be honest, it will tough for him to get anything done for Alabama because his own party will be lined up against him. And establishment GOPs are not worried about voter backlash in Alabama because it always votes GOP. That's why they are being so aggressive with him now. So...Alabamans will elect someone who philosophically agrees with them but who will have no real impact in furthering their interests in the Senate. I may be wrong but that is what I see from here and I am an "establishment GOP" |

Right-wing Gateway Pundit is propping up smears and attacks coming from a pro-Moore troll who is posing as a dead Navy SEAL:

Perhaps it's your wife who is like that. Bless your heart. |
I have to agree that you are most likely correct in your assessment. There are 2 factions in the Republican party: The McConnells, McCains, and compromising Corkers, and then there are, I guess "Tea Party-esque"? Republicans. If Moore gets elected, he will have to choose a side to work with, and it will be interesting to see who he sides with. McConnell has many strings he can pull, and many connections to call upon to get what he wants. This is also what makes me think the rape allegations are false: Once Moore was elected, McConnell, in one of the many backrooms, would call Moore into the room and say, "Roy Boy! Guess what some girls I found are saying about your roaming hands 40 years ago? How about you play ball my way or some friends of mine in the media --all hungry dogs who would just love to chomp down on a sexual misconduct bone I throw them, will be broadcasting all across America? Now, as you will soon learn, it is the McConnel Way, or the highway....which you want it Roy Boy?" |
