That's it. I have had enough of this. I am asking Jeff to kill this thread as I has no place on this forum.

Instead of just ignoring it, eh? Weak mind.

They are looking to add players. Nice bunch of parents and kids. Coaches first class too. Not the profile of their top team obviously, but a good opportunity is there for someone.

Does black wolves have open tryouts?

Word is the NYPYLL, the main travel league has shut down for good. Anyone know why?

For those in NW DC, what are the options for a rec league for a 5th grade boy? Do they not exist?

Well, the NPYLL league is officially shot. Club scumbags can't even be civil enough to administer a spring league without undermining each other. Thanks guys. It's all about the kids, right?

Understand that the Cannons from Calvert County and Madlax from Northern Virginia pulled out of the league, and that killed it.

You need a coach recommendation.

Or you can email trig and ask if you can come and tryout.

But everybody I know, got a recommendation.

There's a shock. Another sleaze move by Cabell. At least he's consistent.

Let me guess whatever happened, it's good for Madlax and bad for everybody else.

Make no mistake, I am not a Madlax parent or a Cabell fan, but...Giving him some credit for being the good business person it is quite possible this is a move to get away from a Ryan McClernan controlled NPYLL league. Cabell is an a'hole, but he is a junior varsity a'hole compared to McClernan.

Next Level has quietly been doing organized, well managed and affordable high school and youth leagues for the past 18 months. People used to laugh at all things NL when it was the Laco ATM card swipe business for clinics nobody wanted, but he was at least smart to hand over the operations to a group of smart and motivated young guys. They are doing a good job. I think the NPYLL league going down the toiled is the lacrosse version of the Berlin Wall coming down. McClernan is a self interested, financially self serving scumbag and a bully who changes a rule every time his precious teams lose a game. The further that Madlax, Black Wolf, 3D, Next Level, Club Blue, Bethesda, etc. can get away from all things McClernan it is for best I say. It will be interesting to see if VLC is welcomed into a new local league given McClernan owns the teams. Frankly this is just a cow bell call for smart VLC families to migrate to other clubs, start their own club or get a divorce from McClernan and buy the club back. Life is too short to be in bed with RM.

...and what a fantastic opportunity for the DMV club owners to finally step up and do the right thing. Start a new league that goes back to age based teams. No more 8th grade games with 15 year olds crushing 13 year olds in their way. Sorry Landon, sorry Mater Dei. Time for the sport to be a youth sport again.

I agree that the change from age-based to grade-based is a horrible idea, with bad consequences for both the kids who are held back and those who are playing on age and have to deal with them. It seems like parents who don't want to be part of the cynical culture of pushing their own kid ahead at the expense of the game and other kids ought to band together and make some changes.

I've heard rumblings about this and folks posting on various boards, but haven't seen any official confirmation (i.e. no email from club, NPYLL site hasn't updated, Madlax still shows NPYLL for Spring season).

Assuming it's true -- what does that leave? Howard County league?
