Not only the color, but the train and the veil!!! That is a first-wedding-only type dress for sure. My God.

Says who?

To those who understand, no explanation is necessary. To those who don’t, no explanation will suffice.

+1🙂

Also, whose brother says he can’t mKe their wedding cause their kid has a thing that weekend? Yikes.

I heard his kid was leaving for college, seems reasonable. Then the question is why Ben and Jen would choose that date. People usually make sure immediate family can attend.

And give more than a few weeks notice.

Leah Rimini couldn't attend for the same reason, kid leaving for college. What narcissists would pick a date some of the most important people in their lives couldn't attend?

Yes, agree! Were all their kids there? It is the start of the school year. I wonder if any had to miss the first few days. I honestly don’t care if kids miss school for a family event but the first few days can be important to set the tone for the year.

Labor Day weekend would have made more sense.

What do you care? They look happy.

I was raised in the south, where this simply "isn't proper." If you know, you know.

Well ain’t you special. NOT.

That's the first time I've seen the "NOT" thing since the nineties!

I know little about (and am not a fan) of J. Lo’s music or acting, but I have to admire her optimism. Most of us at the age of 53 (regardless of wealth), wouldn’t be interested in multiple dresses and a vision board for a wedding. Just getting married in the August Georgia heat would be a deal breaker for me. With their combined wealth and fame, who is there left to impress amongst her guests? She not only looks young, she obviously has youth’s fresh triumph of hope, as well. I was far more interested in George and Amal’s wedding and her fashion choices. Probably because we are not so saturated with her images.

perhaps because our weddings were a long time ago and we are not focused on other stuff?

They don’t attend not for the college bullshit because you can show up for college a day late, but because they know this shit will never last! They don’t want to be part of it! I heard one family member did not attend because he claimed his hamster just broke up with his girlfriend and he had to stay home and cheer him up. Wake up people!

Because this wedding had nothing to do with family. It was all about optics and getting more press and attention.

1000% this. Go on any wedding board and they will tell you in no uncertain terms that it is bad form to get married and then have a second wedding to pretend to get married yet again. You get one wedding period. For someone who's been married 3 previous times, she should be well aware the optics of this charade are not as favorable as she is desperately seeking. Don't almost all celebrity couples go on a private honeymoon away from the cameras instead of parading around Paris every.single.day to get pics? Then to hold yet another elaborate wedding to get more attention and pics. She needs to get a real life.
If those shameless Kardashians can do it, then why not? And they’re worth a billion. Jlo is many things, but dumb is not one of them.

Yes. Shameless is correct.

I love this thread! Here’s my hot take…

Jennifer Garner loved Ben Affleck so much. I don’t know why, but she did. And in return, he walked all over her. And she let him! She helped him get sober, she parented their kids and I think if he is to be considered a “good dad”, it is to her credit. I think he was a miserable little man in their marriage and he’s a miserable little man now.

J.Lo “loves” Ben Affleck but more because she loves what he can do for her - give her a love story, publicity, etc. She doesn’t let him walk all over him which actually makes him respect her more than Jennifer Garner. But I don’t think he’s actually capable of loving another person in a healthy normal way.

I feel bad for J.Lo’s kids. Their dad has a bunch of kids and lives where - Miami probably? And now J.Lo’s kids live in LA. They thought A-Rod was going to be their stepdad and his daughters would be their stepsisters but nope! Now it’s the Affleck kids. These poor Muniz kids just have to roll with it.

The Affleck kids are probably pretty grounded - again, to their mom’s credit. They look like it’s all good in the photos, but blending families is never easy. Especially when your dad marries the woman he dated before your mom (suggesting that he actually never really loved your mom and always pined for the “other Jennifer”) and your new stepmom is this very public figure who is obsessed with her public image.

Even a normal divorce / custody arrangement is tough. Ben and J.Lo have been on red carpets all over the place, I bet they actually spend very little time with their kids. Ugh.

Ack, I cannot open any of the articles about this wedding. Didn’t this just happen, with a zillion articles/photos a day? This is the height of narcissism. Feel free to celebrate yourselves but this self-imposed pap coverage is just insufferable.

To be so smart, talented, and successful, yet still constantly need and seek ways to get attention is sad.

Nobody thinks addled always pines me for jlo. He could Have had her any time he wanted in the past 20 years and had several “serious” relationships in between. I think he likes her and plays along but would move on in like 3 minutes if this doesn’t work out.
