The Golden Bachelor

White was never about virginity. The trend started when Queen Victoria wore white at her wedding. Previously, white was associated with mourning and was considered inappropriate for a wedding.
It became associated with wealth more than purity. Not many women could buy a new dress for their wedding and keep a white one clean.

Men aren't a monolith.
And Faith looked very country. It's not for everyone.

She can wear whatever color she likes. I just don’t understand why such a cute lady opted to look like a giant marshmallow. That ensemble did nothing for her.

Of course she can. And the rest of the world can point out how ridiculous it is for a 70 YO woman who was married for 45 years and had two kids, to show up at her second wedding wearing virginal white and a veil. She looked ridiculous.

I thought it was even more cringe when she and Gerry were talking about being registered on Amazon and she was going on about "it's so exciting to think about all the new things we will buy together ..." Just, ugh.

Seriously! What could they possibly need to buy? They should have two of everything in their combined household, unless they are buying a third place to be theirs together?

Clearly that was branding placement--Amazon paid the network big bucks to push their registry.

How do you know that was a producer? Anyway, I'm betting Leslie gets DWTS, but she's not a great candidate for Bachelorette. While I sympathized with her after Gerry told her she was the one and then moved on, she didn't handle it well. She descended into a lot of self-pity about her whole romantic history, which let's face it was probably 50% her fault, and also her affect went flat even before he told her, and that's not exactly the sort of perky personality the bachelor/bachelorette franchise goes for.

She looks and acts like a man regardless of her hair. And I can’t get past her crude farting convo.

The farts were the high point of the show.

Wearing white isn't a virgin thing.

As a bride, Yes, traditionally it is.

You do realize that modern day the vast majority of brides (even those marrying for the first time) are not virgins, right?

Can you read? PP said traditionally. Yes, dear, that is why wedding dresses are white! Who knew?? And I agree that a 70 year old mother of two looked ridiculous in a traditional wedding dress.

 Most brides over the past 50 years have still worn white despite not being virgins, Madge. A “tradition” like that loses its luster when its accuracy went out the window decades ago. Clutch those pearls tighter.

Women have been criticizing for decades other women's wedding dresses who were too old, divorced, pregnant and thinking inappropriate
Sad, very hard on each other. All jealousy

Leslie knew and felt he changed after misleading her and lieing to her, that’s why her expression was flat.
Good grief, have you never felt that when dating and broken up? She can act anyway she wants. I think the comments are from people who never dated, maybe married first person ever with and knows nothing. Lots of judging here. Her love history is her own and nobody’s business. I would love to see these women who are so full of judgement what they look like, wore ant their wedding and their history. Outrageous How about some support as a women instead.

I would love to see the commentor here
who clearly is same person
that judges Leslie and Faith .
Both beautiful and extremely popular
especially the men no matter what you tell yourself about them.
Not country
Not desperate and needy
Bla Bla
Just beautiful
Wonder why they upset you so much

Wasn't it queen victoria who introduced white wedding gowns? Besides, that's all that's available at a bridal boutique. I'd say it's time for a new trend.

+1. Unless you wanted Theresa to show up in a navy blue J Crew pantsuit.

Of course Leslie is entitled to her feelings, and she has all my sympathy. But she also immediately went back to "I always get into bad relationships / always get dumped" and that's not the pert and perky person, let alone history, the Bachelorette folks usually bring on.

Yup, Leslie had a zillion red flags.

No man, in his golden years, would see all that baggage and drama and say "Sign me up!"

I like Leslie, and think she's the best option of the current cast.
