Have you ever taken off work to hang out with friends or fellow co-workers?

Your opinion on the adult version of skipping school?

I was asked to do this once at a company to rebel against a horrible boss but I was saving up leave and declined.

Not exactly but we took a longer lunch break to go out to lunch with the office. The company was super strict about the maximum number of minutes allowed for lunch. So one of the co-workers who didn't get along with anyone and didn't come complained to the boss. We were all punished by making us make up the extra time after work. The boss probably wouldn't have cared but he knew that the complainer would have gone over his head if he didn't do something.

I've skipped work to have sex with a sexy friend and also with a co-worker. Never just to hang up.

Who says "loins"? What are you, 90 years old??? What are you doing on DC Urban Moms?

One time when my boss was at a conference, three of my coworkers and I left the office to see a movie. We definitely felt like naughty kids pulling something over on our dad.

Another time, our boss told the other people at the office that we were all going to a client meeting, but we really went to an early happy hour, where we proceeded to stay the entire afternoon and evening.

I loved that job. We worked hard, but we had a lot of fun.

I know someone who goes to the movies with his co-workers sometimes during the business day. But he works on a quota system so it doesn't matter when he gets the work done, just as long as it is done.

I don't hang out with them at work. Why would I take leave to hang out with them outside of work?

I've done both - such fun, needed and management even wink, wink, nudge, nudge ok'd it.

We don't usually play hooky at work-- we get plenty of leg and have a flexible boss.

I did go drinking with my boss once. We took a long lunch on September 12, 2001 and sat outside and drank. It wasn't like we were getting any work done any way.

My friend and I decided to leave work early one Friday. She had just been made supervisor and didn't have any employees yet and her work was done for the week. I told my supervisor that I had forgotten about a Dr. Appointment and that I needed to leave in a hour and I didn't think I would make it back because I had to have a couple of tests done (I recently had a few medical problems). I left about 30-40 minutes after my friend and and met her at our favorite bar. I then called her mom and told her we (the office) were having a surprise party for my friend for her promotion but the babysitter fell through and would she mind taking her granddaughter for the night.

In our defense we were great friend and knew our time together was coming to an end. I was getting married and leaving the country in six weeks time.

I teach little kids so NO WAY leaving for a few hours would go unnoticed!

Yep, I regularly get pedicures during work hours with a co-worker. Luckily, our particular work arrangement is such that no one would think twice about us being unavailable by e-mail or phone for an hour, and we talk shop for at least 2 minutes and sometimes as much as 5. If anyone ever asks (which they don't) we just say we were in a meeting.
