Gross domestic product, the broadest measure of the nation's economic health, grew at a 3% annual rate in the final three months of 2011, the government said Thursday.
But CNNMoney's survey of economists forecasted that growth will slow to 2.1% in the first quarter of this year and won't pick up significantly from there.
Growth over the course of 2012 is expected to be about 2.5%

Its to prove that Obama's spending policies were a big waste and haven't helped to get us out of this problem. Free markets shall reign, and yes GW was not a good example.

You want to fire Obama because of a survey of economists about what they think will happen in the future?

If you people trusted economists, we would have followed their advice and put enough stimulus into the economy to get it moving again. Alas, you didn't much care for their point of view back then.

No, if these predictions are correct it will validate the idea obama's policies were/are bad and the same fake summer of recovery occurs thus ejecting him in November.

the eyeball tests says that climbing gas prices is going to be a major problem for obama if this continues. couple that with the supreme court possibly overtuning healthcare, obama is going to be in some trouble.

unless you are a political junkie or wonk, data and polls dont mean a damn thing to average everyday folks. so these conservatives can cherry pick whatever data they want. at the end of the day, if the public feels the economy is crappy and that obama doesnt present the best argument as to why people need to re-elect him, the republican nominee will win.

if prices continue to go up and impact people's lives, they will take it out in the voting booth.

Bush left an economy robust enough for Obama to waste a year on obamacare. Then Obama dropped the ball and now we have a horrible economic outlook based on foodstamps, debt and windfarms.

We have been through this before. This is a meaningless vote. The budget needs to go through the normal committee process. The entire thing was set up to embarrass Democrats and/or provide election campaign fodder. The Republicans have proven themselves quite adept at wasting time and pulling political stunts. They have been not be able to do much that was actually productive, however.

That's why Hank Paulson said we were on the brink of "Economic Armageddon". Because we were doing so well.

And yes, Presidents have to deal with multiple problems at the same time. Health Care is its own crisis. Ask any employer about what is doing to the cost of business.

I thought that Obama passed the stimulus bill which exploded the national debt and turned us all in to gay commies. Which is? He did nothing at all or he did too much?
