Lol good joke! Seriously, though Tyson's is very expensive (2100-2500 per month). Maybe you can find a basement apt in a home in Vienna or McLean for $1000 but probably not as low as $800 per month

You might be able find a 1 bed or studio for about $1000 (maybe less) in South Arlington. Not too far from Tyson's and there is a bus that goes to Tyson's from Columbia Pike.

Group house is your friend's ONLY option. It ain't gonna be in Tysons, either. Try Falls Church.

I know of a basement in Tyson's that rents for 1k. It will be available in August if you are interested.

I rented for $950/mo for a studio- all utilities included in 2006.

I rent out the basement in our house in Tysons for around 1K a month, including utilities, if that gives you an idea of price range. We will be raising the rent around 7-8% this summer.

You can find a small basement apartment or room in a group TH or house in the general Tysons area for that on Craigslist. Take a look there and you will see some listings.

I'd have him look for a group house or condo in North Arlington, near Ballston - it's a pretty quick commute to Tysons on back roads (or 66) and then he'd also be closer to where the fun single people live. He can probably find a bedroom with private bath for about that amount or a bit more.

There are lots of older, not very nice efficiencies near baileys crossroads in that range. Not unsafe.
