Well hon, let’s see. The GOP’s propaganda is that their party cares about “life.” But outlawing abortion is going to cause horrific injury and death to a number of women and girls. The GOP couldn’t even vote to get formula to babies. They will not attempt even the most common sense and widely supported gun regulations. The thing is that you’re like a fish. You can’t see the water you’re sucking past your gills. You don’t even grasp the concept, really. So I could give you fifty more examples but you can’t see it until you poke your head out of the water and take note. Plus Republicans scatter when presented with reality and I’m sick of doing your homework for you. Stacey Abrams would be a vast improvement for Georgia and would vastly improve Georgia. |
She is a disaster of a candidate. Her election would be another major embarrassment. |
I live in DC but vote legally in GA. I will be voting for Abrams. I agree she hasn't been strategic this time around. I'll still vote for her because Kemp is an awful human being. However, I actually don't think anything will change remarkably in Ga even if Abrams does win (or any Democrat, really). That's because the problem is not (just) the politicians, but the general populace. It's more or less a state where half the people wouldn't mind reverting back to Jim Crow if were socially acceptable. That's the mindset in which they make their voting decisions. Additionally, the culture is not one of improving oneself in any meaningful way. I lived there for nearly 15 years so feel I can speak on this. It's basically last in everything (education, healthcare, equity) and it's a terrible place to be a person of color. It's not actually great to be a person of color anywhere in the US, but its especially terrible in Ga. The overt and microaggressions are on a total different scale than the DC area. |

Maybe because Stacey Abrams has caught herself up in bashing Georgia at the expense of setting out her vision for voters? Voters aren’t going to make the case for her just because she’s a Democrat and threw up a campaign website. She has to sell her vision. She also has another problem because the election irregularities and polling station drama she’s been screaming about didn’t happen. Even in predominantly Black areas, everyone was in and out on election day with no problem. When her whole platform is based on preventing Georgia from stealing the Black vote, the reality makes her look like a drama queen. She needs to focus on expanding her platform, not attacking the state she seeks to govern. |
Your opinions are in sync with those of your preferred candidate. There are many persons of color in Georgia who strongly disagree with your opinion of their state. They are professionals of varying ages who love living in Georgia |
She will never be elected in GA. Her dumb foot in her mouth cost her the election. Of course, having already lost she never concede and is convinced she is governor. Her time is done! |
Disagree strongly would be a stretch. My son lives in Atlanta. He loves it. Does he think it's racist? Hell yes. Does he think it could be better. Oh yes. He's black. |
Because your son is a rational adult. There’s an Al Franken quote that the repo pos pps should read and internalize: “We love America just as much as they do. But in a different way. You see, they love America like a 4-year-old loves his mommy. Liberals love America like grown-ups. To a 4-year-old, everything Mommy does is wonderful and anyone who criticizes Mommy is bad. Grown-up love means actually understanding what you love, taking the good with the bad and helping your loved one grow.” |
Can someone link to a video or quote of what she actually said? |
Yes, insulting adults who don’t agree with you by comparing them to toddlers is the way to bridge the divide and spread acceptance of your ideas. Intelligent thought process there. That’s that adult thinking. |
Dp- the well is poisoned. There is no changing people’s minds. It’s about out voting. |
PP here. I don’t consider myself a Democrat, honey. I’ve *voted* Democrat, but I’ve voted Republican too. People down here do things like that. I vote based on which candidate represents more of the issues important to me at any given time. I love virtually all of the laws Kemp has spearheaded this year. What has Abrams done beyond yammer about voter suppression that didn’t happen, kiss up to northeast liberals, and, now, badmouth Georgia? She’s not going to lock up my vote just for being a Democrat. You can keep that blind, partisan approach to politics. |
What policies that Kemp enacted do you love? And why? |
+1 yes! |
