DP from Georgia. Georgian PP is correct that this comment is not going over well at all.  Southerners are aware of how they are perceived by northern liberals and this disdainful comment does indeed make it appear that Abrams may be disdainful of them and not able to really understand and advocate for Georgia.  The fact is, Georgia is on a great trajectory but it has a large and diverse rural population that sometimes struggles with poverty. But this rural population has a different set of values and perspectives than progressives, so Abrams has a way to go to reach this group.  Her comments do not inspire trust.  [/quote]

Interesting point here to note: you have completely erased Black rural people. You have defaulted to thinking of rural voters as White only. And you sound sensible enough to be a Democrat, so it’s just interesting the extent to which white supremacy sneaks into our framing of the world.

Well hon, let’s see. The GOP’s propaganda is that their party cares about “life.” But outlawing abortion is going to cause horrific injury and death to a number of women and girls. The GOP couldn’t even vote to get formula to babies. They will not attempt even the most common sense and widely supported gun regulations.

The thing is that you’re like a fish. You can’t see the water you’re sucking past your gills. You don’t even grasp the concept, really. So I could give you fifty more examples but you can’t see it until you poke your head out of the water and take note. Plus Republicans scatter when presented with reality and I’m sick of doing your homework for you.
