We are #2 for SWS for 1st grade - any chance? Our current plan is Watkins after our year at Peabody.
Got into Lee Montessori for Pre K 3 for our younger child. Not expecting placement elsewhere.

Likely a good chance. Re-enrollment just began this week and school doesn't yet know who's returning. There's usually at least a few seats that turn over from year to year. If you're IB for Watkins you would still have Stuart Hobson option for MS down the road. SWS feeds Eliot Hine.

Be warned, SWS has a dress code....for moms. Do you own 12 pairs of yoga pants?

LOL. I think this dress code applies to all of the elementary schools on Cap Hill! Mine at least, and we aren't at SWS.

Lee - East End or main campus?

I’m an SWS mom and I’m sincerely perplexed by this comment. Is that an assertion that SWS has lots of SAHMs? Anyway, I don’t own yoga pants, don’t do yoga, and wear a suit to drop off. And I’m aware of lots of moms like me.

I fail to see that much of a difference from Watkins and SWS.

Is there hope??

You'll get into AppleTree - they tend to churn through their waitlists, I believe.

We had a similar WL number at AppleTree Lincoln Park last year and didn't get in, but they were willing to offer us a spot at a different location, which we declined.

First off, have a cocktail and relax for a second. Second, do you happen to be visually impaired? If you are perplexed by this comment then you aren't paying attention. Yes, SWS has a large cohort of SAHMs. And yes, it skews whiter and higher SES. Embrace it you silly bird.

Latin #135
Basis#102
Haynes #92
DCI #72

How does the feeder preference work for DCI? I have to rank DCI first for the feeder preference to be applied? Sorry if this is a dumb question. Trying to figure out how I would rank Latin, Basis, and DCI and not lose the preference.

DP. So the yoga pants comment was really just code for the school being a safe bet for white/affluent families? Is that what you meant to convey?

Ah, what a lovely dose of sexism mixed with putting down people who are differently-abled. I don't know if it's worse if the comment was written by a man or a woman, though "have a cocktail," "relax," and "silly bird" are all clues it was written by a man.

Also there's an option to edit our list at this point? Is there some strategic reason to do this that I am missing? I don't know what I'm doing! Help!

Did you apply for PK3 or another grade?

OP here, we are OOB for Watkins. Lotteried into Kdg this year after getting into Beers, Payne, JO Wilson ( attended for 2 weeks) and then Peabody. We live in W7.

East End. Was our 12th choice only because it’s new and may impact our commute.
