How much do you make and how much FA do you receive?

The term was not meant to disparage anyway. Nonetheless, realistically speaking not all families are going to be a good fit for the private school environment.

As for traveling, do you really think private schools want to educate children on the world and not expect them to go out and experience it. That defies logic and common sense. It would be counterproductive to educate on world history and then suggest well since you can't afford our full price tag, you better not go further than Florida to vacation.

There are some privates that live their religious values, and some that only pay it lip service. The one's that live it have the school community (students and parents) out contributing to the community, through outreach and missions. And the idea that people of extreme wealth cannot speak to those on the other end of the spectrum is ridiculous.

Nope, not an ounce of guilt. By all means see it however you choose but know that your opinion unequivocally means nothing to me. Have financial aid rewards already been awarded? Do families get notified of their financial aid award before the deadline?

Yes, when you receive the admission notification you receive information about how much FA they are offering. That way you can make a decision about whether you can afford to attend. The first school we heard from offered us no FA, which shocked the hell out of us because our net HHI is less than $100K and the school was very vocal about financial aid and promoted how much it gave away annually.

Luckily, the other two schools we applied to were very generous in their offers of FA, so we are able to send our son to private school next year.

What does that even mean? If you're rich you're not only suppose to donate extra money to help people on FA but also invite them into your social circle? BTW, I am not rich and I have trouble making friends with poor people because everyone is so busy!

We get 5k per child. HHI around 150. No house payments no car payments. Family money helps with the rest.
