I live in CC DC and find the parking on Connecticut Avenue to be really easy compared to anywhere else in town. There is often street parking and if not most business have parking lots in the rear. Not sure how someone can compare it to Cleveland Park or Woodley Park or Van Ness - those places truly have very limited parking. We, in Chevy Chase DC, do not have a parking problem.
According to the CC listserv, the new restaurant that's replacing the mediocre Chinese food place will be called the Avenue and opens shortly after Labor Day. Guy who posted it on the listserv says it'll be serving "contemporary American food." Phone number listed with the posting is linked to the Capital Crab Company, so I guess they're indeed running it.
Sorry, buy I thave to say it - To all the pps who said they have never heard of Connecticut Avenue being referred to as "The Avenue" and now the new restaurant being opened is called "The Avenue". Pretty clear "The Avenue" posters know what their talking about - just saying!
Looking forward to checking out the new place. Thanks PP.
On my side of town we call Georgia Avenue, "The Avenue". |
Does anyone know why the construction wall and signage for the new restaurant "The Avenue" has disappeared? Are they still opening in that location? Was hoping they were going to work on the front of the building's athletics and, as many have posted earlier, we desperately need new places to frequent on Connecticut Avenue, NW in Chevy Chase.
