Do students at universities form social groups based on family income levels?

For Philly schools, the social groups usually align with Inter-Ac schools, GFS, Shipley, maybe some from the Main Line publics (but usually not enough…they need to belong to one of the social clubs or play expensive travel sports and travel often), and some St. Joe Prep, maybe LaSalle Prep.

Friends League schools too is a Philly thing.

What does this sentence even mean?

Based on the string of posts before this one, I think they're suggesting that the "Which private schools kids flock together in colllege?" conversation should become its own thread.

I agree. I'd love to know more about how friendship groups form and how ecomomically mixed they are AFTER the elite private school kids take themselves out of the mix.

Because according to many of the PPs, it's pretty much a given that they do that . . . so I'd love to hear more about socializing by the rest of the kids, a.k.a. the majority of kids at a college.

I don’t understand why people want this. You basically want your kid to be a character in Gossip Girl?

Yes I know that. Shipley is a part of Friends League. But not every friends league school provides the social capital later in life….eg Abington

And to clarify above, Shipley plays in friends league sports but not actual friends school. But GFS is all Friends.
