This country has a gun problem. All the arguing about the shooter is stupid and pointless. More kids are dead because this country cares more about guns than it does children. FFS.

This country has a mental health problem.

A confirmed white male. I’m not surprised.

This aged like milk.

How? He’s a biological man.

Both things can be true.

Could be. Could also just be familiarity? His mother worked there (at the school), and retired in 2021 I believe.

I wondered if perhaps the church or school had wronged him or his mother in same way (perhaps discriminating against them?) but there is absolutely no evidence of that, and it is not mentioned in his letter.

Best to acknowledge mom’s radical politics. She wasn’t actually Catholic.

Her social media is a mixed bag politically. She was clearly a highly religious Catholic and posted about it often. Also posted a lot of anti-abortion memes. However, she also posted in support of GLBT and anti-racist memes etc.

Robin’s preferred pronouns were they/them.

He killed himself with a self-inflicted gunshot, ONLY when the cops showed up with their guns.

If ONLY some trained person had been on site with a weapon to IMMEDIATELY shoot back at him, rather than having to wait for law enforcement.

Real life is not like a movie. Most people are going to hesitate, get nervous, or panic in these situations. That is not a reliable option.

Liar. Trained and experienced armed people are essential.

And trained and experienced armed people aren’t that hard to find. They just need to be allowed to be armed in these places. Most of the time, it’s not permitted. And since they’re not criminals and follow rules, they’re unarmed, despite being the type of people who could be relied on to stop stuff like this before the police can get there.

One wonders if even a single police cruiser outside the building might have deterred this event.

It's been shown to encourage shooters to bring more gun power that to avoid the school.

Thank heaven we have the solid example of how well it worked to ban the importation, manufacture, possession and sale of illicit drugs; the operation of motor vehicles under the influence of alcohol or drugs; and no-longer troublesome ordinary crimes like robbery, theft, rape, mayhem and murder.

other countries have figured it out - a shame this is the only one that can't

More “gun power”?

Fascinating. Keep taking.

“Been shown?”

They interviewed the people who turned around and went away? That would be a good trick.

Exactly. Democrat politicians are allowing these tragedies unnecessarily.

Yet armed schools in FLA get shot up and nobody stops the shooters. Schools with armed guards have more shootings. So, no.

Buffalo grocery store had armed guard and did not stop shooter.

The letter mostly was about unaliving himself, & feeling the urge to do a mass shooting despite knowing it was wrong. Lots of apologies to and goodbyes to his family. Indicates lots of mental suffering on his part that has been going on for a long time

Yes, they look at ones that were stopped, ones that never happened, ones that happened. The FBI (pre-trump) was actually quite good at this.
