You can combine lots. This is a tangential hand waiving comment. A 6+ story single stair apartment building can easily be built on a sub 10,000 sq ft (formerly SF lot) if the zoning rules allow it, this is not hyperbole. There are floor plans for apartment buildings that are 25 feet wide and 70 feet long, with 6+ stories. VA is evaluating about single stair reform this year and that is next step for YIMBYs to force density into suburban neighborhoods. People need to fight back. They don’t care if people die in fires they just hate single family homes. |
Logic is easy --- the homeowner did not put the metro there. |
| How about if people get to live in nice neighorhoods when they can afford to? |
Homeowners are not dictators. Believe it or not. |
No one is asking to be a dictator. But if you really wanted to pack more people in, you would give current homeowners the ability to interview potential residents for compatibility with the neighborhoods culture and values. But of course you're not actually interested in density. You want to run a forced sociology experiment. |
That’s one of the most asinine posts on DCUM. Even without greater density, WTF stupid idea is this? So it’s a Co-Op board for the entire area…new SFH owners included? BTW…go live in a Co-Op if you want this. |
You're proving my point. You don't care at all what the existing homeowners want. |
I’m proving that private property ownership and capitalism are hopefully still alive and well. You are proving you are a dumb ass. |
|
OMG, this is a thread that will never die.
That being said, MM was struck down and ain't coming back HAHAHAHAHAHA get rekt yimby scum |
Another dumb ass…that ruling was overturned. It’s already back. |
Much more fun to complain about how unfair life is and paint yourself as the victim. |
Watch the libs continue their crusade against the nuclear family. How do you think it will turn out? |
Townhouses and duplexes that cost $1.8 million, and 6-plexes that are rentals, are pro-nuclear family? |
Another dumb ass....the ruling that overturned the ruling, was itself overturned. It's not back. |
Arlington has had the smart village concept for over two decades, and that addresses your concerned about density near metro stops. Missing metal is about putting density in places where there is very bad transit, so they’ll all be car dependent and take up street parking and overflow commute routes |
