How to tell me you didn’t read the article without saying that specifically.

While the high school she attended was a high resource high school, and her parents are well-educated and wealthy, her SAT score among her cohort is very good. So based on outperforming her peers her results are not surprising.

Obviously having left, or even far-left, ideological extracurriculars is a plus for ANYONE's application.

She likely didn’t waste her time, money, prepping with multiple testing thru high school with adhd pharmacological enhancement and test taking accommodation. Bravo. Great decision on her part. More important matters to focus on.

A student who has mastered Algebra I and tenth grade English will score a 1450+ every time. Asians and whites receive a 1450 and have to take the extreme measures you describe because they do not have access to admissions slots given to applicants with 1370s. Unless their parents are donating seven figures they cannot swing a 1370. Even recruited athletes with likely letters almost never have scores that low. She was only admitted because she is black and so few get 1370s.

People with sub 1400 scores aren’t academically smart.

Bravo on not getting properly diagnosed and treated so she can test at the median level of the school she will attend? So her “story” will lower such cohort expectations ever after in her career?

Yay?

Now tell me the demographics for students taking ADHD meds and testing SAT accommodations? I bet not Asian or Black. Check out the rolling US suburbs and health insurance prescription data.

Never mind median level. She’s, what, 150 points below their 25th percentile?

So she didn’t get treated cause she didn’t have the means?

But other posters said she’s ambitious with great ECs (lol)!

Or she didn’t get treated cause she already knew expectations were much lower, and expects that benefit for the rest of her life?

Students' job is studying and preparing for exams, tests, finals, and SAT. Not being pretentious.
