Your kids are definitely ending up at some low to midtier school.
Karma.
Believe it.

this.....

That’s what many people predicted (hoped) for Amy Chua’s children. That’s not what happened. Tiger Moms: 100, Karma Moms: 0.

Their commitment websites are relatively quiet. DD is at RM and says a number aren't posting for some reason. She knows 3 Hopkins and 1 Amherst ED acceptance who haven't posted and said EA kids might still be applying RD elsewhere to see how things pan out. Also, a significant number of magnet kids end up at the UMD Honors College and/or get Banneker Key and go that route because of cost. They won't have heard yet.

Thank you.

3 JHU already is impressive. It's a small program.

Oh my God - I just clicked on one randomly (sidwell) and the mystery of why so many of our 4.6, 1600 Sat kids are not getting into elite schools comes into pretty clear focus. The obvious bias that every kid there is headed to a top five school is actually sickening. Stunning. Seems they waltz right in if the parents had the money and location to attend this schools. So much for a meritocracy.

The kids at GDS and Sidwell deserve it. They worked hard for 4 years. Don't devalue them because they have wealth. What should they do? Not work hard?

BTW, I am particularly impressed with GDS and Sidwell this year. Out of 200 or so total seniors, 170 will end up at top colleges!

How do you know anything about these kids' merit, activities, or stats from the Instagram posts?

Please don’t denigrate how hard top Sidwell students work (the ones who get into Ivies and T20 schools). Sidwell doesn’t weight grades, but if a student graduates with a 3.8+ GPA they have busted their butt. Very few (to zero) students graduate with a 4.0 each year. Any student that does so isn’t just hard working and brilliant, they’re also lucky to have avoided the jerk teachers who pride themselves on giving only one A per class.

Sidwell is a pretty great sports powerhouse too. They get lots of athletic commitments at top schools.

Ugh. Please take your Sidwell/gds feuding to the private school forum. No one cares.

The RM kids have toned down posting acceptances over the past few years. A lot wait until May when more kids have decided and it’s not clear what round the acceptance came in.

Rich parents can buy the best of everything for their kids? Wow, I am hearing this for the first time.

These kids are the very embodiment of white privilege!

There are lots of non-white students at Sidwell (however, many do come from rich families).

Mmmm hmmm. Sidwell has juuust enough diversity to protect themselves from accusations of racism. Or at least, that’s what stupid people think.

What is wrong with people? Parents talk sh!t about other kids and where they're going to college? That's just gross.

Tell me that you don’t know anything about Sidwell today, without telling me you don’t know anything about Sidwell today.
