DOGE?

After all the destruction that he wrought on our government and the deaths he caused in developing countries, Elon Musk now says that DOGE was “a little bit successful. “ I’m speechless.

Of course Elmo would call DOGE a success. He managed to destroy oversight into his own companies, secured his government contracts, installed his henchman at NASA, paraded his spawn all over the White House and got to prance on a stage with a chainsaw. All with a heaping dose of cruelty in the process. What’s not to like?

He didn’t say doge was a success. He said it was a “little bit successful.” That’s actually infuriating to hear after all the destruction he created.

Even in this measured praise, he's delusional. Still saying they stopped zombie payments. They didn't.

People who think DOGE cuts haven't been damaging don't read and don't care to process information from reputable sources.

USAID shutdown has led to hundreds of thousands of deaths
Gawande cited an analysis in The Lancet that estimated that USAID assistance—aimed at combatting diseases such as HIV, tuberculosis, malaria, and polio, reducing maternal and child deaths, and fighting malnutrition—had saved 92 million lives over two decades.

The dismantling of USAID, according to models from Boston University epidemiologist Brooke Nichols, “has already caused the deaths of six hundred thousand people, two-thirds of them children,” Gawande wrote. He noted that the toll will continue to grow and may go unseen because it can take months or years for people to die from lack of treatments or vaccine-preventable illnesses—and because deaths are scattered.

“We are now witnessing what the historian Richard Rhodes termed ‘public man-made death,’” Gawande wrote.
