She had no idea he felt the day he did, is it normally to brake up with someone mostly because of politics reasons? She's a 25 year old preschool teacher.

She's an idiot, OP, but she won't be the first 25 YO who let a good guy go for a ridiculous reason.

Get back to us when she's a 45 YO old maid preschool teacher.

She can come here to receive validation from all the other childless cat ladies.

OP drank the NPR cool-aid and ended up indoctrinating her poor child.

Now she’s having regrets about raising a LWNJ who will likely turn into an angry cat-hoarder living in her basement.

So she turned to DCUM for affirmation.

Love it, and agree.

People like to think single cat ladies are angry but, they are not. I don't know why everyone thinks owning cats is an insult.

Men especially lob that insult, since having a man is supposed a woman's #1 goal and reason for LIVING. Delusional!! Perhaps if men were better human beings, cats would not win so easily. It is sad, doubling down on insulting 50% of the population, instead of going inward and working on being better people and partners. I guess laziness wins.

It is not “not voting“ for KH.
It is voting for the turd that is the issue, and the extreme lack of morals, values, and decency that he represents.

Well remember many of us voted for bill clinton..and would have re elected him !

No comparison between B Clinton and Trump, none at all. Yes, he was not perfect, but compared to Trump, yeah he's "perfect" and has morals.

Clinton is a rapist so no many of us Dems would not elect him.

i am the same age as chelsea clinton i would NOT have voted for that creep. i remember getting so teen angsty and emotional b/c people were defending him and i kept on thinking of myself being in an office with some creepy old dude and getting creeped on.

My experience is MAGA men also tend to be the king baby types. Won't do anything around the house because "that's women's work" but they conveniently forget they're supposed to be making all the money.

Being married to one of those guys is basically parenting your boyfriend. No thanks.

No, it's not normal. You may want to encourage her to learn about tolerance, perhaps even visit a therapist.

+1 the side that proclaimed tolerance for decades is now the most intolerant of any other views. The bf dodged a bullet

Yep, this. I'd take a hoard of cats over that any F'ing day of the week.

Conservatives love to throw this out and think they are SUPER clever. But guess what? This is not a both sides thing. I do not and am not tolerant of people whose views want to roll back civil and human rights for my DD, my LGBTQ+ family and friends, who want to rape the environment and leave nothing left for my grandchildren. Among other things.

So, yeah, this isn't a different view over who is the GOAT of the NHL, or whether pineapple belongs on pizza. You want to deny my rights to make my own medical decisions? Yeah, no, we're not going to "agree to disagree" on that.

I disagree. I think it’s actually emotionally mature to end things with someone when you realize your values are not compatible rather than argue, drag things out, try to change who they fundamentally are, etc.

OP didn’t say her daughter broke up with the guy and then started a hate blog about him. She simply ended a relationship that is likely not going anywhere long term.

Exactly. The “tolerance” comments are always so lame.

They seemed so good together and talked of marriage once school was behind both of them. Of course I asked why even though it’s not something I would normally do. I’m more of the are you okay and let me know if you need anything kind of parent. His answer, I cannot take four years or longer out of my life of being told men are evil and I f g hate them. He said life’s just too short and he just wants to enjoy it, enjoy his work and enjoy his friendships without over analyzing every single moment or person. People really need to stop making politics the center of their personal being. It’s just not healthy.

Good for him to free her from him

This response is exactly what DS was talking about, I see how it can and is exhausting to live with for anyone. You sound like you may need some anger management help. Good luck.

Your DS sounds weak and his girlfriend needs a strong partner.

Can you tell me who murders, beats and rapes if it’s not men?

If I say men are dangerous and your DS thinks I’m talking about him specifically you might want to think “why does my DS identify with that statement”.

Did she say he’s dangerous?

This is the problem. Criticizing “men” broadly, without qualifiers. It’s like criticizing “women”, “gays” , or “Latinos” with blanket statements. The PP’s son doesn’t identify as criminal, but he seems to identify as male. Of course he would be offended. To expect otherwise is disingenuous.

Ha, I broke up with my hairdresser in 2016 over the same. Don’t miss her at all.
