I'm not happy about this, but some of you are delusional. There is NO WAY the Houston rally is a bigger deal than Rogan. And to even suggest that scheduling conflicts are preventing her from going on the biggest podcast in the world is laughable.

At this stage in the campaign it's about turning out the people you know are voting for you. Rogan's base is young, mostly white men. They aren't going for Harris anyway. Meanwhile a rally with Beyoncé where she talked extensively about abortion rights? Might motivate more young women to get to the polls.

She's not going to convince the core Rogan listener to vote for her right now. It would be cool if she did it (because I think she'd do well-- 1:1 somewhat adversarial interactions are good for her because they show off her prosecutorial skills) but I don't think it should be a priority.

+1. I think she has more to lose than gain at this point by going on Rogan. I also don't think Trump going on Rogan and whining for a couple of hours is going to do much to turn out the vote.

+2 they wouldn’t edit her kindly and that’s an understatement. However I do have to say that if the D nominee were a man, that he should definitely do it. But sadly that is a reflection on sexism.

On the other hand - this is about turnout and peeling off marginal voters. If Harris can reach a few more of these dude bros and convince them not to vote for Trump or to vote for her, these little marginal wins can make a difference in the swing states.

I'm not sure why she didn't go on Rogan. She's gone on a bunch of other podcasts, so she's def open to reaching voters where they are like that. Maybe she will go on, still?

The only way dude bros are voting or voting for Harris is if their girlfriends tell them no nookie unless they vote for her.

I don't think it hurt Trump, but I think Trump supporters vastly overestimate the effectiveness of Trump's communication style. If you're used to hearing Trump you've sort of normalized it (whether you like him or hate him), but he does not come across as coherent to the casual listener. Sound bites are his friend. Three hours of rambling is not.

Maybe, but with 10 days left and early voting underway in a lot of places, the juice is probably not worth the squeeze. Rogan is pretty much burning a whole day for Harris with no guaranteed surge in votes in the states where it really matters for her. It's a gamble her campaign is not likely to want to take.

I realize this is the right wing talking point, but that doesn't make it actually true. If you like Trump you liked this interview and you think he did a great job. I think it was a blip and possibly a waste of time for Trump.
