Ripping iff children makes you so happy.

I'd direct my anger toward the board since they used her as a scapegoat and it cost them.

She helped cover up for a serial sexual harasser and did everything she could to make sure he was successful and tried to bury the information like it's the 1960s and the internet and emails don't exist. The Board is a bunch of buffoons and instead of having a backbone and showing they're going to stand up to this type of corruption, they cowered and gave her the bag because they don't want to be perceived as racist. If she threatened her a lawsuit, let's go to court and put her on blast for her behavior. Even if she won, the settlement wouldn't have been much more than what she got. Should have stood up for what's right and fired her for cause and showed that type of behavior won't be tolerated anymore. But they didn't...vote them all out over the next few elections. Actions need to have consequences.

That wasn't clear from the report. Sure, there were a few anonymous complaints, but it's hard to give that much weight.

Which they were investigating.

It's really not clear McKnight did anything improper here.

You are correct, but the McKnight haters will label you a troll for relying on facts.

Find a taxpayer happy she got $1.3M for nothing.

I never liked her much or her policies, but I'm fine with it since I think it's only fair. IMO the board shoulders more blame and just scapegoated her.

McKnight knew all the facts and still recommended the BOE to promote the serial sexual harasser.

The BOE did not know all the facts and blindly followed McKnight's recommendation.

Both McKnight and the BOE should be fired.

No, the investigation was ongoing at the time. No one had all the facts.

Haha. Stop with your lies Monifa. The IG Report and the Jackson-Lewis Report concurred - you protected your fellow bully Beidleman, promoted him, and then lied about knowing about the dozens of complaints against Beidleman to the BOE. Just go spend your money.

DP. At the very least, I would not want anyone to recommend people for promotions while they are under investigation. And not hide this information from board members.

Particularly when combined with anonymous complaints, that sounds like a great way to allow anyone to tank another person's career.

True and what little did I know wasn't confirmed, so it would've been appropriate to ruin someone's career over gossip.

It is. Easy to do. Just make anonymous complaint and ruin a career. So easy! Yet it did not work in MCPS. It took documentation and witness statements to substantiate the complaints.

You have to do your due diligence, even moreso if there are numerous complaints over a period of time.

Monifa, there was plenty there to justify your firing. Go enjoy your money. Get a hobby. You'll feel better. Otherwise, you dwell on your bitterness. Not good.

Right, but with a $1.3M settlement, she's hardly being sent up the river. That amount is tantamount to an admission of wrongdoing on MCPS's part.

Teachers did not like Monifa. She comes across as fake, nothing genuine about her. Very shallow.
