It's also true that placement can vary from year to year on factors out of control of the k-8. Like last year with GDS telling nobody they essentially had no spots due to neighborhood issues (they didn't even tell the k-8's this info). Or whether a rising 8th class from the highly competitive schools has a gender heavy group - meaning few spots for that gender. And it's also hard within the k-8 if there are many younger siblings at a certain highly competitive school - meaning - likely to be fewer spots open for others at the k-8 who might like that school. These all vary year to year. [/quote]
