Perspective.

Such entitlement. I’m silently giggling to what my parents would have said as a girl if I was throwing a tantrum and distraught over them not shelling out hundreds of dollars for a concert or whining endlessly.

People today. Sigh

It's all about the other girls at school. Look at me dressed up as a Swiftie, look at me and my excess.

In our wealthy neighborhood, it's about the moms too. So freaky. They are on the party bus with the daughters. To a lesser extent with Harry Styles too, but this TS crap is crazy.

Don't flame, but it's stuff like this that makes me so relieved I have all boys.

If it’s really just about one-upsmanship, then go online and buy one of the stupid blue crewnecks for $500. Wear to school, be The Coolest. Done.

(I actually saw an adult guy wearing the blue crewneck downtown and people were doing double takes and asking for photos, lol. Having the shirt may be an even bigger coup than having tickets! None of my friends who got tickets have managed to get the blue crewneck, lol…)

I have zero idea what the blue crewneck is- does it have her face on it?

“ She had also modeled a newly purchased blue crew neck sweatshirt, the most-sought after item among fans. Nearly every person outside the stadium on Wednesday morning was trying to buy one, or two, or as many as they were allowed to have.

There was nothing flashy about it. The sweatshirt had no sequins or embroidery or hidden pockets. It was just your average everyday sweatshirt, with Ms. Swift’s name and “Eras Tour” printed across the front and the tour dates and the titles of her albums on the back. If you closed your eyes and conjured a blue crew neck sweatshirt with some writing on it, your mental image would probably match up with this in-demand item.

One thing that made it special was the fact that, unlike some other tour souvenirs, it was not available in the “merch” section of taylorswift.com. It was also, notably, the rare garment for sale that day without Ms. Swift’s face printed on it. In the weeks since the start of the Eras Tour, fans had elevated this unexceptional article of clothing to cult status.

“Every Swiftie wants the blue crew,” said Debbie Losee, a 60-year-old teacher who said she was waiting in line on behalf of her daughter.

The apparently limited supply made it even more prized. “The resale on the sweatshirts is $300, Jake!” one fan was heard shouting into her phone. She was correct. The sweatshirt is available on eBay for more than four times its $65 list price.

“I’ve been having nightmares about getting this crew neck,” said Emily Rottkamp, a 20-year-old employee at Disney World. “I haven’t been sleeping.”

Alyssa Misay, a personal injury specialist from Land O’ Lakes, Fla., joined the line before 5:30 a.m. She said her teenage niece had given her strict instructions: “‘The sweatshirt, the sweatshirt!’”

The frenzy about the blue crewneck cracks me up because there is no reason or logic behind it whatsoever. But of course I tried to buy one, lol.

DD got the blew crew. It’s kind of ugly tbh. I liked some of the others better but it’s all about the blue crew,

Boston ticket prices are falling a lot!

For those who could not score the elusive blue crewneck: there's an Etsy seller with a dupe that, IMO, is even better than the OG.

https://www.etsy.com/market/fandom_embroidery

It is embroidered rather than screen-printed like hers. I've seen so many Swifties posting on social media about how their merch got ruined after the first wash. The merch is getting produced so quickly that the screen printing hasn't been cured correctly or something.

This begs the question, why is it teen girls dying to get these overpriced tickets? My observation at university with guys working at student radio and with my teen sons is that they tend to seek out newer bands and singers with few fans to be the first to make a new discovery. Bonus is that newer acts have cheaper tickets.

I am mid 40s and this was the most incredible show I have ever been to. I am not a swiftie. Its a 3 hour non stop experience and isn't even in the same stratosphere of most concerts.

This. Another 40+ person, and someone who goes to a lot of concerts and Broadway shows.

This was my first Taylor Swift concert but it will not be my last. Her show is easily on my list of top 5 concerts/shows I've ever been to.

I hope that this show will be released on some streaming platform because everyone should be able to experience it. Each time I watch a livestream or see a video online of shows from that particular weekend, I notice a new aspect that I missed during my show. The other day I learned that during Delicate, the graphics on the stage make crack marks as she walks/stomps during certain parts.

It makes me extremely happy to hear from other 40+ Swifties! I love seeing adult women drop the facade and embrace music that’s associated with girliness and youthful emotion. And why shouldn’t we? There was never anything wrong with being a girl, or being honest about your emotions! I wasn’t raised to believe that, I don’t think most in our generation were, but Taylor offers a path to move past what we were taught to think about ourselves. She’s an outlet and an inspiration! I’m so glad you enjoyed the show!

I’m seeing upper level tickets starting at $600+? Maybe that’s down from what it was, but it’s hardly bottom of the market, lol.

All of the merch is ugly! It looks like something mocked up in MS paint. The typefaces, the graphics, the overall design, all of it is just bad! Not even ironically bad or retro bad, just bad! And it doesn’t feel like Taylor at all. But who cares? Concert merch is all about the association. Ugly as it is, this merch serves that purpose. I want the ugly blue crew, lol!

That is very low considering philly was 1200 top of stadium with obstructed views.

She does great in rain. Reminds me of her fearless tour at the Verizon center. DD’s Christmas & bday gift that year were tickets lower level. About $250 each as a recall — an astonishing amount in 2010 for us anyway. Wow. Memories of a lifetime.

Yes she does and she did in Nashville but to be a fan getting rain poured on them for three hours in 60° weather, not a great time. Some people are not willing to drop 2000 on tickets for that experience.

Agree with so many of my 40+ swifties here! Saw her at FedEx for rep and it was incredible. Going to Pitt next month and can’t wait! I do not get the frenzy over the quarter zip (ifykyk), we got our concert tees from Etsy and they are so much cuter and cheaper than the official merch.

70,000 people disagree. But do what you want with your money. All good.
